It would be especially helpful when applied to a certain sage, with a certain to do list that sometimes makes bit hard to remember what you were talking to him about when a reply appears
What!?! But then I'd have to start making a "To-Do" list for the queue of scribes I'm likely to have pounding on my chamber door -- should such a system be implemented here at Candlekeep. |

Always, always, quote the preceding context and provide direct links for Sage. Backlogged to-do stuff flows much faster when it's been idiot-proofed into a concise, accurate, and completely self-contained package. I'm not at all saying Sage is an idiot, lol - I appreciate similar efforts from my own underlings when they backlog my workload ... anything that can't be dealt with in moments gets put off to the side (momentarily? indefinitely?) so that I might first concentrate on cutting vast quantities of (endlessly accumulating) "easy" stuff out of my face. |

I'll agree with that... as the linking does indeed help.
But I suppose I should also note the the backlog of "stuff" on my "To-Do" list is in no way linear. In fact, it kind of meanders and veers up and down, sideways and backwards. And I'm sure there's several projects that have been mentioned more than once. |

I think it would be great to have a 5-sec or 10-sec video clip as avatar. |

Not only that, but a page with 25 animated avatars would be slow loading on a lot of systems, even with a good connection. |

Really? Hmm, even here in the Philippines (which is far less advanced in tech than US), Dial-up business died because of the very affordable broadband services offered by Smart and Globe. |

I see. I seem to be basing it on my case alone. I frequent Regine Velasquez's fan site (reginemultimedia.com), where, even though so many avatars are video clips, I very rarely encounter slow loading of pages. |

Well, I know a lot of individuals who still use dial-up here... if only to avoid the lousy broadband service from some of established ISPs. |

I think the most slow stuff you can realistically expect people to use these days would be P4-era machines with 56K dialup access. Most people will have substantially better specs, but you just don't want to turn people away (or have them turn you away) with bloaty web content. My (perhaps highly inaccurate) *assumption* is that, due to the peculiar content, Candlekeep must accomodate a number of visitors with slower computing capacities.
I'll admit that even on my high-end "gamer" systems I still prefer lightweight apps and websites ... why experience even the tiniest of delays when you don't need to? My older laptop (with WiFi) can still be frustratingly slow on some websites. And sometimes I run heavy software loads which noticeably slow down my browsers.
Perhaps a compromise, where threads/scrolls do not contain animated content but profile pages can? Or users can enable animations in their control panel? |

Not bad. But I'd still prefer the animated avatar... And speaking of avatar, whatever happened to my new avatar, Sage? |

Let's just hope he doesn't put building that app on the to-do list! It could rip apart the very fabric of the space-time continuum! |

Hmmm. SageSpace? Would my "To-Do" necessitate the spatial dimensions defined by a crystal sphere? Can spelljammers visit SageSpace? A crystal sphere full of half-started tasks and multitudes of uncompleted projects floating like planets -- all of which have been drawn together by the collective gravitational force of my ambition? |

It may not be that important, but I'm curious nonetheless... Why are most of my sent PMs not shown in my Outbox? 'Tis not full, only 3 are in it. |

Hmmm. Not sure why that is. Though I've noticed a few odd occurrences with my own Outbox of late.
Might have to bring Alaundo in on this. |
