So I got lucky. Found for 1.25 a signed soft back. The crystal shard. R.a.Salvatore was a great find.

I still need to get him to sign my 1st edition paperback. I had planned on it at a convention he attended in Houston a few years ago, but his mother's health took a turn for the worse and he had to leave early.

This does remind me of when I found [but failed to purchase] a rare Ed Greenwood-signed copy of Elminster: The Making of a Mage in a second-hand bookshop. With deep regret, I realised that I'd forgotten my money purse, so I raced home to retrieve it, only to return to the store an hour later and discover that the book had disappeared. Likely purchased by some other lucky Realms fan.

Or call a dear friend to come to the store, spot you the cash and then follow you home for his/her money. Such a book would be worth it!

I used to have a copy of Dragonlance Adventures, signed by Tracy Hickman, that I picked up at this sorta-but-not-really flea market in Sanford.

And I have a signed copy of Evermeet.

Embarrassingly, it was only after the book disappeared that I remembered a fellow bibliophile who lives only three streets away from the book shop. She could have easily made the purchase for me had I remembered and then called her to come to the store.

About a decade ago, I had found all 16 books of the Harpers series in a thrift store in the big city near me...I only purchased Elfshadow and Elfsong (as they had the same author and characters), but didn't think to look for the other two by Elaine Cunningham (Silver Shadows and Thornhold) as I had no idea they were also there (I had *just* discovered the Realms and didn't know about those ones). I have Silver Shadows now, plus The Dream Spheres, from the Song & Swords series printing and all 5 books as ebooks...but I'd like to get all 5 as a matched set (that would never get touched, lest they be ruined!), and maybe someday get them all signed...a scribe can dream, can't she?

"Sweet water and light laughter until next we meet." - traditional elven farewell

Please forgive any spelling and grammer errors, as my android touch-screen phone has no spellchecker. If I do make a grammer mistake, please let me know and I'll try to fix it.

New laptop, still trying to sort my "scrolls" on its shelves...and when will this cursed thing stop doing things I tell it not to?
