Crude my friend, you could at least have killed him in a less messy way.

Ezindir does a random pick and takes up one of the bobbeling liquids, he almost begins to pour it into another liquid when he lookes at Shadowlord and changes his mind, instead he tosses away teh roots he was cheewing and lights his pipe. Then suddenly a imp appears. The imp lookes at the Dead body of its master and then it looks towards Shadowlord before it screams and it begins turning to run back the way it come from when Ezindir places one of his two black short swords, burning in a red flame, into the Imp. The Imps suddenly is a pile of ash. Ezindir puffs on his pipe and says: Now lets find this Halaster, shall we? |

>Looks Ezindir in suprise> Find Halaster? I don't think we are on a suicide mission. >Glances others> Ezindir, you realize that Halaster is one of the greatest living archwizards don't you? Some say that he is even more powerful than Elminster. >Then he offers a wide grin> Or perhaps if we arranged an ambush... >Looking through the group and seeing their faces he quickly adds> Just kidding! >Narad waves his hand to the dead man and the body melts through the floor> Now that one was a fool. Coming to Undermountain equipped with magic missiles? Pathetic. >Narad starts singing some weird song and almost instantly he becomes almost invisible> I'll go ahead. While in this form I can't trig any alarms or traps. |

Shadowlord nods. "Very well. I shall Shadow-walk to the Jaezred Chaulssin, and see if one of my .... unusual allies... can be found." As he says this, Shadowlord mutters some incomprehensible phrase, and a planar rift opens in front of him. As soon as Shadowlord steps into the rift, it closes.... |

Elmister is only a puny Wizard. I say we gather some allies and attack. Surely our powers combined will crush this fool. Cerrn with his magic silk, Shadowlord who will strike deadly daggers in his back, my and my ravens attacks from the air, I do not now so much about you RaVen, but surely you most have some powers, adn the same about you Narad. With the proper alliances we could rule the world, adn you say this mage is to much for us. Anyways, anything which would quicker my leave from here is welcome. I have spended to much time her in row, I need to spread my wings in the free wind, but whom am I speaking to, half of you are gone, and only the nice and friendly, Cerrn with his nice magic silk is left. |

>Narad returns> Cherrn is right. Maeby somewhere else but not here. But after Halaster who do we beat next? Larloch? Now there's a challenge.
Anyway, I came to tell that there was a small camp ahead. They were hostile and I had to kill them all, except this one >A portal opens next to Narad and a short man falls through it> They had something to do with the cyricists, but I thought that you would enjoy 'extracting information' from him more than I. >Narad throws the man near Cherrn> He is all yours. >Further ignoring the frightened man, Narad turns to Ezindir> To rule the world you say? If we became the leaders of this world, you wouldn't have any time to spread your wings in the free wind. I for one, don't want such job. |

Did I say that I want to have the job? I only said that we could have gotten it if we wanted. I see that this Halaster is a coward, he is hiding in his little lab, I say that we take Cerrns magicall silk and wipes his buttocks with it, anyways. What shall we do with this one, my swords can heal people from burned wounds as well as damaging. |

>Nods to Ezindir> Forgive my misjudgement. And indeed we could rule this world, but that wouldn't be so good thing because you and Shadowlord would allow only Vhaeraun-worshipping . >Glances the man on the floor> What you want to do with him is completetly up to you. I don't really care. I'm going to scout a little bit >Narad makes a quick spell and a floating see-through disk appears before them> I'll leave this here so I can keep up with things >Leaves the cave> |

Why thank you elf.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles at Narad, then looks at Ezindir
Be of some use and keep watch halfbreed. This shouldn't take too long.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine puts one end of the silk between his teeth, the other end he lets hover for a bit, then closes his eyes and concentrates. With a sound of something that pierces flesh the end of the silk enters the little man's head
Now let's see what you can tell us my soon to be dead friend.
The man lets out a loud gasp and begins to tremble, soon he is shaking all over, the shaking then turns into something that looks like the poor man's muscles are all pulling themselves together at once. Which they indeed are. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles wickedly

Step away from him Raven.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine yanks the little man out of Raven's grasp with his silk leaving the little man on the floor in front of Cherrn
I have learned what we need to know. Goodbye little man.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine focuses his energy for a few seconds, then the little man screams in pain as his eyes starts to bulge. After a brief time of pain of worst kind Cherrn releases him from the pain by letting huge ammounts electricity pierce the little man's skull. The little man's head explodes in spectacular fashion. Instantly a wall of solid silk appears in front of Cherrn weaving a wall that protects him from all the gore. The silk wall vanishes as fast as it appeared
Apparently the Cyricists are working together with Shar's clerics. They seek to procure a tome from Candlekeep that is hidden in the lower depths of the keep. They do however need something that is hidden in or around the Halls of Undermountain to breach the magical protection that is on the tome. What that is this little man's mind couldn't tell me because he didn't know at all.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles
And after we left Candlekeep a group of Sharran monks and clerics managed to infiltrate the keep so they could look for the tome. |

Just then, a huge rift once again opens, Shadowlord steps out, and with him steps an illithid, one of the horrid abominations of the Underdark. "Ven'dui. This is Mlakymib, one of the fearsome Mind Flayers of the Underdark. His talents shall prove useful in our hunt," Sparing a quick glance at Cherrn, he continues, "... among other things..." Looking towards Ezindir, he says, "As the Chosen of Vhaeraun, I can hear when my name is spoken. You are incorrect. I wield short swords, not daggers, though the smaller blades are a necessity when in the Har'oloth." Turning towards Cherrn's prisoner, Shadowlord swiftly draws his blades, and plunges them into his chest, watching the victim's life bleed away. "Though I am a master at torturing the body, my true expertise lies with torturing the spirit." Saying this, Shadowlord takes the captive's blood, and draws a pentacle, one of the commonly used varieties to summon abyssal creatures. Intoning in drow, Shadowlord exclaims, "Dal l' Rendan l' ilythiiri doer, ulu ol nind yutsu, pahntar l' obsul'e ji nindel Usstan xal ul'plyr wund!" This said, a swirling maelstrom of chaotic energy focuses on the pentacle, and Shadowlord states, "I summon you, Araknalath, see my binding, and bend to my will." The swirling energies move faster and faster until a huge creature appears within, with a massive body, chitinous plates, and fiery skeletal wings, a Balor Lord, called by some. "Tanar'ri, I have bound you, and in return for a service, I shall open a portal through which you, and you alone, may venture out onto the Prime Material. What you do then is not my concern..." The Balor begins,"I greet you, Tsabrak Teken'ghym, Patron of House Teken'ghym, ancestral name Qu'ellard 'lil Barra's Floh'len. What service do you require? I am eager to return to the Prime one more, as I have not been summoned since the Fall of Ascalhorn, with which, I might add, you played no small part." Before Narad can start talking about the fall of a noble Moon Elven Citadel, Shadowlord says, "Drathir Darthien, or Moon Elves, as you call them, bother me." Turning back to the demon, he says, "Araknalath, find the spirit of this one," Shadowlord kicks the dead body for emphasis, "and extract every bit of knowledge from him. Once done, return to me with the information, then, be free on this plane. You may do as you will once the task is complete." |

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine gives Shadowlord a slight nod when he appears
Al'doer rath ussta abbil. Usstan keffal dos inbal sila lil uss udos talin bauth.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine eyes the mindflayer for a few moments. The mindflayer eyes him back with its creamy white bulging eyes. There appears to be some sort of mental conversation that ends when the mindflayer bows its head in respect for Cherrn
I have already acquired what is worth getting from the cyricist Shadowlord, I disposed of him as soon as I had learned anything of value. |

People maybe, but not illithid. I've delat with them before and this one >Gestures towards the illithid> is nothing special. Even you, Cherrn, should be able to beat it. Unless I've overestimated your psionic powers... But I do not think so and I'm still waiting for an answer why it is here. Not for it's power I quess. |

Shadowlord nods to Mlakymib, as if asking permission, and responds, "You are a fool, Narad, and greatly underestimate Mlakymib. Just as I am a Chosen of Vhaeraun, he is the Chosen of Ilsensine, Greater Goddess of the Illithid Race. One of his abilities allows him to mask his true strength, so your observation of his skills is nowhere near close." Shadowlord continues onward, with the Illithid trailing slightly behind him, it's pupil-less white eyes staring straight at the elf, relaying a telepathic conversation. "Continue to underestimate me, darthiir. I wish to see your face when I devour your mind." |

>Narad turns to Shadowlord ignoring the illithid> A chosen? Maybe it is a chosen. However it is not a god, so it can be killed. >Draws his sword and thrusts it throuh the cavern floor> Now lets see your true strenght. Don't worry Shadowlord, I won't kill it. >Closes eyes. In a couple seconds the illithid suddently melts through the floor. The melting stops and only the upper body of the illithid stays above the floor. The captured illithid sends a message to Narad's mind "You fool, now I will feast upon your brain!". But nothing happens. The illithid waves it's tentacles like mad and turns to Shadowlord, fear in it's eyes> Why does everyone underestimate me? I believe that he is a chosen, he has that much strength, but he is still an illithid. >Narad takes his sword from the ground, and the illithid gets finally free. Mlakymib rises from the ground and is about to attack Narad when Narad starts speaking> We will finish this somewhere else. >Again, a portal opens between them> Shadowlord, whatever your purpose with him is, it'll have to wait. >Mlakymib slides through the portal and Narad quickly enters after it. After Narad the portal collapses.> |

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine laughs loudly when Narad jumps through the portal
Yes give in to your anger elf, that's exactly what the illithid wants.
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine looks at the others and smiles
Watch.
A portal appears in front of the group, out of it steps the illithid Mlakymib. The words "foolish elf" booms in the minds of the group. Something that resembles a smile appears on the face of Mlakymib.
"That's what the elf gets for underestimating me!"
Mlakymib throws Narad's sword on the ground
"If he comes back then he can have it again. One so inexperienced in Astral travel really shouldn't go there to fight one who is the master of such a place. It was like... hmmm how you do say... Like watching a fish on land!"
Mlakymib waves his tentacles in amusement
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles at the illithid, then picks up Narad's sword
I'll keep it safe for him. Now shall we get going ? |

As the group prepares to move on a vertical portal appears in front of them. Out of it falls Narad who hits the ground with a loud thud. Narad looks up at the group with a look of confusion on his face, a face that is sporting a tiny cut above the left cheekbone. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles at the elf. Welcome back Narad, here's your sword back. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine gives Narad his sword back hilt first. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine chuckles
Now can we please get along ? Shadowlord obviously brought Mlakymib here because he can do something you cant Narad. Otherwise Mlakymib wouldn't be here. So put your jealousy of Mlakymib's powers aside Narad and lets get going! |

>Narad slowly rises from the ground. When he gets up he gives the illithid a not very friendly look> The portal took me to a nice place. On this prime material plane, actually. An illithd city it was and it had an army of illithids backing it up. >Gives a smile to Mlakymib> Still can't devour my brains? A real shame. Anyway, I had a though time fighting my way through all those illithids, but finally I was able to escape. >Starts laughing> But my mistake. I thought the illithid would really have a duel of minds. So all I now know about it's powers is that it can call out to his kin for help. Powerful indeed... Like fish on dry land... >Narad does a circular motion with his hands and his wounds are healed> |

I think we are getting close i can feel power eminating from the northeast passage. Its either a very powerful mage or a powerful artifact. Walks over to the body of the dead human I tire of this form I think ill change back. Gets some blood from the body and begains to trace a symbol in the dirt. Scratches his chin looking at the rune reaches into his pack and withdraws an amulet and two rings. Placing his Rings at the left and right points of the Rune. Sticking his two short shords in the ground at the two base points and stabing Alastor into the top of the Rune. Places the amulet around his neck and begins the Ritual ALASTOR I CALL UPON YOU, GRANT ME THE POWER I SEEKAs he finishes the words the swords and rings charge with energy and the energy flows into the blood. In the center of the Rune a drastic transformation begins where RaVeN stood, now stood the essence of the Sword Alastor. RaVeN looks at his Thunderform with satisfaction speads his black wings to the ceiling of the cavern So good to be in my true form again. Reaches over and picks up his rings and short swords putting them back in there sheaths and the rings on his demonic claws. I couldnt have RaVeN getting my trapped in this cave he was a good puppet, and transportation but I grow tired of him. Now lets continue and kill this puny mage. |
