The following is a collection of locations found in Suzail, capital of Cormyr.
The most prominent feature of Suzail is the Royal Palace of the Purple Dargon, which has its own thread.

- The sign for the place depicts a woman with a bow standing on a rock in the woods with wolves snapping at her feet. The entrance consists of an inner and outer pair of doors made of duskwood and sheated in copper. A bakery may be found on the other side of the street from the Bold Archer.

- An exclusive club catering to certain young, jaded nobles and other socially ambitious folk that those nobles liked to drink, trade and sleep with.

- First opened in 1477 DR. Exclusive and expensive. Mask dancers perform there. Caters to the young and rebellious, not old-money.

The Eel Revealed "Elminster Must Die". Softcover edition. p.156-158
- An eatery specializing in cheese-and-eel pies, fortified wines and oiled young lasses to serve customers. Heaping platters of succulent eels and morels in sardragon sauce is a common dish. Some noble customers behave so poorly that the servers hide in the kitchens; other nobles are served with stiff, silent care. The servers sport glow-painted suns, high-heeled boots and strike poses.

- The most expensive pretty-parlor in all Suzail. One street away from the Dragonrider's Club. Serves nobles. Its staff would appear to do more than sneer; likely they refuse entry and toss out those not noble.
The Goose of Doom "Bury Elminster Deep". Hardcover edition. p.103
- A dockside tavern not known for its support of House Obarskyr or Purple Dragons.

- A nobles' club in Suzail in a high house neighborhood where rich merchants and nobles of not quite uber-wealth commingle. Small, quiet and made of stone. Also a drinking house used for swift, private discussions. Closed curtains means the booths just beyond them are occupied. The booths run in a line that lead to garderobes in the back.
- Seat of power for Dauntinghorn's faction in the lead up to the Council of the Dragon of 1479 DR.

- A brothel in the form of a grand house that seems to stretch on forever. Decorated with lushly carpeted halls and full length portraits on doors that are said to lead into the rooms of the waiting wenches. "Mother" Maraedra runs the place.

That Backdrop article was released twice, with corrections in the second one. Too bad they didn't fix the map key. |
