Welcome to Candlekeep rowwhenn.
I'm afraid my French is lacking (I can say 'mosquito' in German - ... no its gone. Ah well its not like I have any more tests on it!). I'll just have to ask one of the other, more learned, scribes, like Sage. |

It's been a long while since my childhood German language lessons, but if I recall correctly, "mosquito" in the German tongue is... "moskito". I could however be wrong about this, as it is a rough translation made while at hard at work (well, I'm supposed to be...).

Well... according to my online translator you are correct - but it wasn't that in my workbook! It was something far more fun. I remember, in one of my sincerely bored days I made up a 2-line German poem about a squashed mosquito on some train tracks - and it actually sort of rhymed. |

Any chance we could all hear that poem one day, Sarelle?

Well met, knowledgable and iniated scribes of Candlekeep. I seek much knowledge from your magnificent halls of books being young of age and wanting to know more about the realms. I do so like to to abit of song and story writing, does perhaps a board where i can post such things exist on this forum? |
"Yes, my ravenous friend," he said quietly,"but there remain two problems." "Two?" "Two," Entreri reiterated. "First, I work alone." Rassiter's body jolted straight as a dagger blade cut into into his spine. "And second." Entreri continued, without missing a breath, "you are dead." |

Greetings and salutations! Another refugee from the WOTC novel boards albeit one of the last leaving the burning guildhall. (all the flame wars I imagine) I see a lot of familiar names here and although it's been a while since I've been online in any way shape or form. (New baby girl, 7 months and fussy-just a few months after Mr.Franklin's little dude if I recall...) Anyway, hope to say hi to everyone ASAP!

Greetings, and stuff. I seem to have a habit of signing up for forums on every site that has one, so, obviously, this one had to match the trend. I am, however, sincerely impressed by the ammount of "scrollsies" and other assorted tidbits of knowledge that you have acumulated on this site. Not to mention that the posters seem very devoted!
In any case, a bit about myself: I'm not exactly a leading source of wisdom on the Forgotten Realms; mainly my knowledge on the setting could be encapsulated completely in a few novels by R.A. Salvatore, both "Baldur's Gate" games, a few other novels, and what I've read of the setting guide (as I don't yet own it myself, living as I do in a small, isolated community of reclusive monks where books, when the do arrive, come in ones, and are quickly purchased by monks with greater stores of worldly possessions.) I've played a few campaigns of D&D in various settings, most of which were original to the DMs in question. The longest of these was an evil-aligned campaign that lasted the better part of year, racked up a huge body-count, and ended, a bit cliche-ed-ly perhaps, with the slaying of a dragon. I'm a bit of a power-gamer, mainly because I hate having my characters bullied by other player characters (and tend to suffer extensive runs of bad luck when it comes to rolling), but I do try to roleplay as best I can, so it isn't pure munchkin-gaming, as my signature might suggest.
And... yeah. Nice forums, cool background and all that. The intro music was a bit of a shock, since I was playing other music at the same time, but aside from that... |
Faintly amused, I do not move as the dragon inhales deeply, a sure sign of an upcoming breath attack. "Why aren't you doing anything?" The DM asks me.
"Well, seeing as I only need to roll a 3..." |

Hail fellow seekers of knowledge!
I'm, of course, a newcomer to these forums, but a long time fan of the Realms, and the DM of a Realms campaign. I hope I can contribute as much to these forums as I glean. |

Well, first, a most gracious greetings to everyone! I would like to introduce myself to the forums, as even though I have been a member for a quite a period, I have not posted in them at all, just read and lurked in the shadows... I suspect a little bit about myself would not hurt - well, if I make it truly a little, it won't, I guess... I live in Canada... though I originally hail from Europe. I love most fantasy, though I have a special "sweet tooth" for the Realms, though I do not know the precise reason why... I have read a lot (I sometimes say "most") of the Forgotten Realms novels, and love every word of them. Gamingwise, I have never played a game yet - this is because even though I have and know all the rules, books, and everything (for the Forgotten Realms Campaign), and I would love to play, I do not have anyone to play with - and I am just too shy to find a group. I hope that these forums will embolden me, and allow me to play. Hey, sorry - I am surely boring you... I just wanted to introduce myself. Anyone, if you want, please I would love for you to IM me... on any of my IMs (no preference). Greetings All! Moonharp P.S. - I do not know why, but I love to use tripple dots (you might have noticed). |

Unfortunately, I can't enjoy the experience that comes with growing hair anymore (what with the transparent skull-cap and all... ), and I shaved my beard off in early August. I normally only grow in a beard around winter time (southern hemisphere), so I'll likely have to wait until next winter...
