Hi, folks! Just some quick updates to the events I am (co-)hosting this Gen Con:
SEM1462730: Spin a Yarn with Ed Greenwood and Erin M. Evans is all but sold out. There are only 11 of the 150 tickets left, and I don't anticipate there will be any remaining by the time the convention starts. If you are planning on coming to GenCon, please sign up for this event ahead of time, as we will be taking tickets, and anyone without a ticket will be asked to wait until ticketed attendees have been seated and we can evaluate how much additional space we have. Saturday, August 16, 4-6pm. Official Gen Con listing (login required)
SEM1458804: Candlekeep Presents: The Lords of Waterdeep is approaching 100 attendees, and will soon pass that threshold. I expect a number of people who have never heard of our gathering will also decide to join us following the Spin a Yarn seminar, so we might wind up with a packed house. As always, if you plan on joining us, please make sure that you obtain a ticket to the seminar, as any goodies we give away will be limited in number, and first priority goes to those folks that signed up for the seminar in advance. Saturday, August 16, 8pm-10pm. Official Gen Con listing (login required)
Speaking of goodies, we've set up a GoFundMe site (accessible here) for anyone that would like to help us fund various portions of our giveaways. We're already well past what we need to pay for the commemorative pins that we offer annually, and are well on our way to getting Candlekeep Presents lanyards made, that will serve two functions: they can hold your pins and your Gen Con badge (speaking from experience, those fancy Gen Con badge holds can only comfortably hold two, maybe three pins, and we're planning on doing these seminars for a while).
Please note that we aren't just collecting money. If you plan on attending, and haven't been able to join us in the past, you can contribute and get one of the few remaining pins from our 2012 seminar, which use the High Marshal of Cormyr's rank insignia as a basis. Unfortunately, we're all out of 2013's Harper pins.
If you can't join us this year, but do want to help out, you can also throw in some money to have us send you one of this year's pins (not yet revealed) and--if we make the threshold--the lanyards we're hoping to make as well.
If anyone has any questions about either of these events, please feel free to post them here, or to message me privately if you feel the need.
I hope to see everyone that can make it at this year's events!

Yep, Garen Thal has the right of it. I plan a big lunch because from 4pm onwards I expect to be wading knee deep in realmslore for the next 12 hours or so. One hundred + attendees for the Candlekeep Seminar eh? My surprise for the attendees just got more difficult to lug around ...
