Oh and if anyone has any comments or suggestions, by all means share them. Please be nice though, it's the first time i have done anything like this.

Im working on Issue II now so hopefully it will be ready by June.

Again if anyone has any of their own material they want included by all means let me know. It can be anything; fan-fic, homebrew rules, adventures, there own take on areas, organisations, or npcs of Faerun.

Well the next issue is already 27 pages and i havent even finished the Laerakond or The Knights Below Campaign Journal.

I'm also adding a few extra articles focusing on the Bloodstone Lands because they are largely empty anyway but also because i kind of like Vaasa and Damara from what little lore is available. I have a historical timeline now with a dynastic line of the Bloodfeathers from 1075 to 1358.

And for anyone who reads Issue II, there is a bit of a secret in the Bloodstone Lands history for those that want to go searching (no hints please from the proof readers).

A Laerakond timeline is proving especially difficult and i can only sympathise with Ed and other game world designers who have had to come up with the history for an entire world. No wonder it has taken 30 years +.

Issue 2 contains the following at the moment.

Dragons of the East: Telos “The Lost Primordial”
Laerakond: Timeline of an Alternate Abeir
Rulesword: Trimming 3rd Edition One Step at a Time
Damara: An Alternate Timeline
Alternative Dimensions Focus On: Vaasa - Zhengyi the Witch King
Alternative Dimensions Focus On: Vaasa – The Warlock Knights
The Knights Below: Adventure Path: Episode 2

Of course Telos is not really a dragon at all but in my version he looks a bit like one and involves a dragon.

The Damara timeline gives dates between 1075 all the way up to 1375 DR.

As for Issue III, i'm thinking about doing a focus on Tiamat and Bahamut as a deity writeup. I intend to do a few more focus articles on things to do with Damara and Vaasa, including a good organisation of Damara, and Higenzi the Witch who features prominently in the Damaran timeline.

If i can figure out how i might also start an alternative adventure path for the Bloodstone adventure series where the party can take part in the adventures of Gareth Dragonsbane (and or play as Gareth Dragonsbane), but it wont follow any novels or the adventures themselves it will be done completely from scratch (hopefully with a bit more thought into the design).

And a word of warning for those who love how the Tiamat, Orcus, thing was handled in canon. I ignored it all and made my own version of events so Orcus' death is independent of the Realms timeline and Zhengyi's wand is not Orcus' wand, it just looks like it.

Does anyone have a favourite article yet so i can get an idea of what to concentrate my efforts on?

Hi DD

I really like what you have put together and your ambition for more, so please keep at it.

I like the alternate histories as it inspires ideas and gives DM things to drop into their games when nosy players start asking tricky questions about why XX happened here and why YY did not do anything about it.

What made the OGBS come to life for me was Ed's current clack timeline around the Years of the Price and Shadow, so to see that expanded as you have done with Vaasa is encouraging.

Look forward to seeing more great stuff getting published

Kind regards

Damian

So saith Ed. I've never said he was sane, have I?
Gods, all this writing and he's running a constant fantasy version of Coronation Street in his head, too. .
shudder,
love to all,

Well since its a long way to the end of May and i'm pretty much finished with Issue II and polishing off Issue III i thought i would post a brief writeup of one of the Kings of Damara that i have detailed for my alternative Damaran lineage.

This is from Issue III and it still has to go through proof reading so please forgive the grammatical errors.

Feldrin the Exile (LG hm Paladin 9/ Knight 4): Born 1108 DR. Died 1171 DR.
Whilst Prince Feldrin, son of Feldrin II, was never crowned king of Damara, he is not excluded from the lineage of Bloodfeathers because of his actions and holds a proud place in the family history.
In 1150 DR his elderly and insane father attempted to declare war on Impiltur. Feldrin and his brother agreed that to save the people of Damara and Impiltur from much suffering their father had to die. Feldrin had no desire to be king and was the more physically capable of the two brothers so he volunteered for the task.
Marching up the steps of Bloodfeather Palace, he reluctantly fought and disabled no less than ten members of the Royal Guard before he embraced his wild eyed father. Then taking his sword he thrust it through the king’s heart and held him as he passed on.
His younger brother Veldrin I was crowned king and Feldrin was exiled, but he remained in line to the throne should Veldrin die without issue, such was the gratitude that Damara felt towards its exiled prince.
A paladin of Ilmater who modelled himself after the Heltharn dynasty of Impiltur, Feldrin wandered the lands seeking atonement for his crimes. He created the Order of Fallen Princes; a knightly order containing only those divine servants who had fallen from grace and sought atonement for their actions through the order (typically by sacrificing themselves for the greater good).
He spent much of his later life in Impiltur, attempting to repair the damage done to relations between Impiltur and Damara by his father. He also did his best to help his younger brother King Veldrin I, even though they would not meet again until his death. He was a personal advisor of Queen Ilmara for many years, and was instrumental in helping her retain Impiltur for her son as well as persuading Ilmara to aid Damara against the marilith Vaas.
In 1171 DR, after the civil war in Impiltur had ended, Feldrin led the armies of Impiltur into Vaasa alongside his brother Veldrin. There they fought against Vaas and her demon hordes. Feldrin regained his honour and his paladinhood before he was slain in personal combat against Vaas and her guard.
