Can't seem to find much info for 3.5 on the Sword Coast in any of the sourcebooks. Only the campaign guide briefly mentions it. Is there a 3.5 book that focuses on the Sword Coast?

Nothing on the Sword Coast specifically. There is useful material scattered through a few products, most notably "Power of Faerun" and "Serpent Kingdoms".

You may find also something in the Waterdeep: City of Splendors book, and timelines in The Grand History of the Realms. But no specific book for the Coast, no.

There's also some amount of information on Dragons of the Sword Coast in the 'Wyrms of the North' 3.x update in the Wizards.com archives.
Though someone complained to me the other day that many of the detailed NPC dragons are dead at present date.

I hope you told them the futility of that

why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power
