So, questions (just the obvious):
How was your reaction when you got the MoP?
When will the book be out?
Are you planning to write more FR novels? |

Read the interview for the answer to question#1. 
The book comes out July 2005.
I would love to write more FR novels, but the decision is up to WotC. I'm sure if the book does well, I'd be asked to do at least one more. |

Just a correction on the interview:
It looks like either the interviewer didn't get the article in on time or the editor already had the March issue content lined up, but the interview is not in this month's issue. I'm guessing it will show up as the feature in April, but haven't received any confirmation from the interviewer or editor. Sorry if anyone was inconvenienced. |

The writer got back to me and said there had been a miscommunication between himself and the publication's editor. The interview will be the feature in their April issue. Oh, well. I noticed that Gary Gygax was the feature this month, so I don't feel too bad about being bumped by the creator of D&D.

| No, I have not seen it yet. I'll have to talk to Phil about getting a copy of the Player's Guide (or it could be in the mail already). Even then, I may not use it, as the protagonist is fairly low level and probably wouldn't qualify. I do use a prestige class from Lords of Darkness for one of my villians. |

Are all of the (main) characters in your novel low level?
Was it a requirement or your own decision?

The main protagonist is the lowest level character. Keeps things challenging that way.
I'm actually about 1/3 of the way through the book at this point. Progress slows when you have a day job plus some side projects in an effort to support the family. I'd look for teasers probably in September, once I've turned in the first draft.

I can tell you for certain I will be buying your novel, I am really looking forward to a novel with a cleric in it( its been so long since RAS and the cleric quintet).

| No artist has been mentioned yet. Phil has said that I'll be asked to submit a "scene" I would like to have depicted on the cover. I've got a couple in mind, both of them involving the protagonist in combat (of course), but I don't think there will be any decisions until after the first draft is submitted. |

Straight from the editor's desk, there will be a Realms of the Dragons 2 anthology from WotC, to be released in November 2005. Due to the high volume of great dragon stories submitted, WotC has decided to issue this second anthology, featuring stories from many of the finalists of the recent Maiden of Pain open call and those Phil Athans calls "the next generation of FR authors", including myself. |

Now that's a scoop. Note to all you other so called authors on this board, this is the way to treat the Candlekeep scribes. Give them news like this. Oh, and personalized autograph copies of their novels as well or is that reaching too far?

I've already seen a release date on your novel (in the back of Venom's Taste). How far are you with the novel? Release ready, first draft? (I stood in the book store, nearly yelling: "I know that guy!" to my sister.) |

Yeah, my wife has a similar reaction when she tries to tell people at church what my book is about.
Look for my very own blog to come out this weekend. I'll post a link here (and over at the FM WotC board).
[edit]While I still plan on doing a blog, realistically, it will probably be at least a month before I get around to it. I'm going to be switching ISPs here in the next couple weeks (taking advantage of the perks in my new position as training specialist for an ISP call center), and may also be able to host my own domain. | Just thought I'd let folks now that I now have my own domain at www.kameronmf.com. It's really just a blog with a phpBB forum attached, but I do plan on adding a bibliography page once I have cover art and sample chapters available. However, you might be interested in stopping by because I've hidden a small teaser about my short story for Realms of the Dragons 2 in one of the recent blog posts. |

Ahh, my first Candlekeep post. Actually, my first Candlekeep visit. I am *such* a babe in the woods.
Hey, Kameron -- I too will be submitting a story for the upcoming Realms of the Dragons II anthology. I was quite surprised to hear that WoTC had decided to release a second anthology, and it set me to wondering about the first one. If we're all in Realms II, who the hell is in Realms I? While I'm on the subject, did any of the MoP finalists *not* get a Realms II story? Huh.
I keep wondering how the thing will sell. Is that crass of me?
I'm being unduly negative. Surely there is no limit to the number of fantastic dragon stories FR fans will want to read. Is there? |

The first anthology will feature many of the current stable of FR writers like Elaine Cunningham and Richard Lee Byers. I know of at least one MoP finalist who, last time I checked with her, had not been asked to submit a story.   
I think fans will gobble up the second anthology.

To expand upon Kameron's answers to Zyx's questions, here is the best I can figure it out. Please note, some of this is me using deductive reasoning, and may not be accurate.
As best as I can figure there were about 30-50 MoP finalists. There are 11-12 of us in the RotD2 anthology.
The 11-12 figure can be found on the announcement for Bloodwalk and Ghostwalker. The 30-50 is based on a few things I, and other MoP'ers have pieced together, and is not representative of anything anyone at WotC has ever told me.
