That's awesome news Thomas, the trilogy sounds very promising. Best of luck with the writing!

This is great news Thomas .
I'm glad to see the flow of wonderful Realms fiction from your quill is still going strong.
I look forward to learning more about this new trilogy .
ADDITIONAL: Just one question... besides the focus on Aliisza and Kaanyr Vhok, do you intend to include other established characters in your trilogy or is it still to early to tell?

Definitely will pick this up. Kaanyr Vhok and Alisza were quite the minor villains in WotSQ and I would want to see a more central role by them. Besides, I owe Thomas a trilogy. *leaves to avoid spoilers for book 5 and 6* |

As the original creator of Kaanyr Vhok and Aliisza, all I ask is you be kind to my babies. And send me free copies of the books.

Yes, yes, I keep telling people that they sprang up from the pages of Drizz't DoUrden's Guide to the Underdark, and that I just took what was there and ran with it, but apparently, I have a +5 keyboard of character development or something. I will do my best to honor their origins.
Thomas
And you should already be on the "free copy of everything Realms" list, since you're writing stuff for them, too. If you're not getting that, talk to Ginger Ahn. |

A trilogy with Kaanyr Vhok and Alisza...will it be before or after the War of the Spider Queen? And will it be in the Underdark? |

Thomas answered the question in page six of the thread

Awesome, Mr. Reid! I enjoy your work, and I particularly enjoy those characters. Very cool!

The "free copy of everything Realms" list includes novels? Grr.... no novels here.... [Realms shattering rage rising]
Maybe I'm still too low on the chain to be on that particular list. [Realms shattering rage fading]

Actually, now that I think about it, it doesn't. The one exception I have been privvy to was the WotSQ series. I got one of each of the other books in the series for that. But in general, no, it doesn't include novels (though I think it should).
So Steven, free copies of the the trilogy for ya from me, baby.

Thanks, Thomas.
Lemme know if you need/want to brainstorm or just pick my brain for little bits of background ideas on those two, the tanarruka, or Hellgate Keep. I think you've got my contact info. If not, email me and I'll bounce ye my phone #. I'm taking tomorrow off from the day job to do a deep dive into BLACKSTAFF revisions, so I'll be reachable...and I'll check tonight to see what my old files and notes say about The Sceptered One. HINT--Alaundo foresaw his coming. |

I'm looking forward to reading this, but have to track down the 2nd and 3rd books yet. It'll be a fun read, as it's in an area I've never worked in much and thus it's more entertainment read than an exercise of editorial brain alongside the reader brain. |

I'm currently working on a portion of an FR game supplement that must remain nameless for the moment.
I'm finishing up revisions on a short story entitled "Bandit Gold" for an anthology entitled Astounding Hero Tales, edited by Jim Lowder and published by Hero Games. This is being published at the end of the year.
I'm also writing a novel for the EverQuest setting for CDS books, due out next summer.
Once I finish those three things, I'm on to the Aliisza/Vhok trilogy.
