To my knowledge, nothing has been mentioned. You might wish to check Mr. Salvatore's web site to know for certain.
I coulda sworn I read that was the plan for 2006's book. |

I would like to read a lotm ore of Artemis and JArlaxle. I have read Servant of the Shard three times because i like them both. Promise of the WItchking is going to be great i think. But a trilogy of JArlaxle and Entreri would be nice. Jarlaxle is perhaps my favourite character |

Here's one question for you my friends: Why is Salvatore always called 'New York Times Best-selling Author R.A.Salvatore'? |

Uh....because he is a New York Times Best-selling author? Why shouldn't a publishing company hype that they have a popular author? |

Because calling him "the virgin Connie Swale" would have been weird?
(Points to whoever catches that reference )
Seriously, SB is most likely correct. WotC loves RAS, so why shouldn't they go out of their way to hype him?
Plus, mentioning that he's a New York Times Best-selling Author could help draw in more readers. People who've never read a Realms novel see that notation, and it makes them think "wow, this guy's gotta be good! I should give his stuff a shot!" So they pick up a book or two, netting the Wizards more money, read them, enjoy them, and go out and buy more Realms novels. And then everyone is happy.
Really, it's all about advertising. And landing an author on the New York Times Best Seller list is wonderful publicity. |

"I spent last night in the company of Connie Swale."
"Don't you mean 'The Virgin Connie Swale'?"

A quick question, not sure if it's been answered already...
With Entreri apparently becoming semi-Shade, what are the main reprecussions of this? Will he perhaps increase his skills in darkness, perhaps even gaining spell resistance or the ability to move in shadows? Will his lifepsan increase and his aging slow, considering Shades live about 10 times longer than humans? If Entreri kills any outsider with his dagger, does he gain some of their properties? |

I'd guess, if Enteri kills an immortal fiend or deva with his dagger and their lifeforce (if they have one) mingles with his own, his body wouldn't be able to stand this complete alien life force and he would either transform into something terrible (like in the movie "The Fly") or simply die.
The same question would go with undead, would he become undead too, if he sucks their essence? |

I doubt he could use it on undead. I think the basis of it is negative energy, which undead are actually healed by, so either it might actually hurt Entreri and heal the undead, or it might just have no extra effect. |

I think thats right to, the dagger only takes the energy from a living creature. So it wouldn't work on the undead or a construct of some sort. |

In Sojourn Hephaestus boasts to Drizzt that he is "Destroyer of Cockleby" (with caps, mind you!). Who or what was "Cockleby," pray tell? |

Hello there Mr. Salvadore. I was curious how I would go about submiting a novel to the FR team. Any subjestions? It seems to me that in order to write a FR novel it would require some amount of conversing with the expert on the world to make sure the details are correct. Maybe that is what the kind FR editors do??? I would have to say that your novels are by far the best the Realms has to offer. Some of the other authers seem to bog down to much during slow parts of the book. Your writing is very fluid and I hope that experiencing your works has a positive influence on my own writings. Thanks. |

You've got practically zero chance of RA Salvatore responding to you on the C-Keep Boards - no offence Alaundo. He does have his own website and message board forums but I'll go out on a limb and suggest that your query is one he hears probably 10 or so times a day. It's very, very doubtful he'll give you a response. What's the secret to writing a Forgotten Realms novel? I'm guessing that the starting point would be to start writing fiction. Lots of it. Good luck.

Hm, so what is this thread for, if not for posting questions? We could change this thread into "Questions for R.A. Salvatore (and the most likely answers)" or something like that... |
Jarlaxle: "Do keep ever present in your thoughts, my friend, that an illusion can kill you if you believe in it." Entreri: "And the real thing can kill you whether you believe in it or not." |

Well met
Indeed. 'tis funny ye should mention that George as I spoke to Bob only two days ago. Alas, he will not be returning any time soon, for various reasons, and I will thereby lock this scroll. |
