Another Phoenix thread, and maybe related to the other thread in this forum.
In the 2e FR product Empires of the Shining Sea by Steven Schend, which details the land of Calimshan and the Arnaden Region (Lake of Steam area), a series of prophecies is mentioned under their collective name:
The Phoenix Prophecies
Steven, presumably with input from Ed Greenwood, details a few of these prophecies, those which seem to have come true, but most remain mysteries and only very vague and cryptic hints (as should be ) have been given.
Has anyone on the forum read these prophecies and incorperated them in their games and/or found (possible) answers to the open prophecies?

I've not read any of them but will certainly have a look at the book you mention tonight. It sounds like a very good hook for adventures (especially if they're not all defined and described) |

Hope you weren't too disappointed on the detailing of the Phoenix Prophecies. They left them open for interpretation and are very cryptically written.
However, the rest of the book and then certainly the section on Calimshan is well worth reading through. The south western region has been given a lot of deatil in the EottSS and LOI products. I'll probably return to the area some time in the future for a game or campaign background. |

Master Ibn Huzal,
Alas, even after all of these years, from 2002 to 2018, only the Lost Empires of Faerun, pgs. 116-7 have even minimally discussed this, and cryptically at that. It seems those auguries are meant to be cryptic until the right time.
What an epic to consider writing though: the other 7978 prophecies by having the collective body of scribes of Candlekeep work on them together. That would be so amazing!
Best regards,
