So... I took a Rattlyer Dragon, and well.. I made the mistake, of having the locals call it the Maraca of Doom ....sighs....

Now the bard is mad at me, thinking it would have been some sort of awesome item for her.

oh well, now to just shake it !

take lemons and make lemonade. Make the tail segment a key component in making a magical Maraca with some nifty draconic or serpentine powers. Maybe it can simulate the rattle effect of the rattlyer dragon. Maybe with a portion of its hood used to wrap its handle, it can reflect spells. Maybe it can be intelligent and provide tremorsense. Maybe it provides resistance to fire or electricity.

and since I noticed you also made a thread about baby dragons.... wouldn't a rattlyer dragon head attached to the end of a wand make for a great wand that does burning hands. If a wyrmling rattlyer dragon is tiny... hell, it could be pen-sized and maybe you could make a lighter out of it. The slightly older ones are small and medium/large, so they'd make good for wands and staves respectively.
