Hello...

Here is another question about old bag o' bones!

Do we know if Larloch has any arcane specialization? In game termes I'm thinking Spell Focus or even if he is a specialist wizard?

Thanks

he was statted out in the 3rd edition Lords of Darkness, where he was not a specialist nor did he have spell focus. That being said, those stats were done at the beginning of 3e, so I'd definitely say "stat him how you like". His classes I'd recommend changing up a bit too (he's just a wiz 20, then 12 levels of epic wizard according to this). I'd definitely look into him having some kind of classes that revolve around controlling other beings (and given that Jiksidur crashed near Narfell, he may have some demonic lore).

This is totally homebrew, but my take on why he was near Narfell was that the original Mellifleur that managed to accidentally steal some of Bane's divine energy and become the original god of liches was from Narfell. I believe Larloch was trying to find information on the process. However, this all assumes that Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul ascended in the years leading into Karsus' own attempt towards godhood.... and that possibly their ascension along with Mellifleur's is what sparked both Karsus and possibly Larloch's interest into divine ascension.

In 2e I think he was stated as a non-specialist wizard, even if he was an ultralich with a lot of special powers. And in 2e Velsharoon was considered the Realmsian version of Mellifleur, IIRC... But since you've mentioned an "original" Mellifleur I suppose you are aware of that, right, sleyvas?
