Does anyone know the specific date of this Waterdhavian holiday? I found it referenced in Faiths and Avatars, but no specific date is listed and nothing came up for me using the search function.

| Nothing..just a full moon, so make up a date as a full moon is never on the same date every year. |

| Do you have a source for that? I'm talking about the yearly holiday, not the Mystery of the Night or the monthly rituals. |

not sure if this is canon or not. I found it in the "Forgotten Realms Compendium 3rd Edition" but it has no source/author listed. Most of the entries in the compendium are from the FR Mailing List and a dnd newsgroup.
quote: Selune's Hallowing, celebrating the moon, stars, and navigation (the major ceremony of this is a parade of worshippers leaving the House of the Moon at moonrise and moving down to the harbor, with the high priestess carrying the Wand of the Four Moons before her) in addition to the other festivals during the Feast of the Moon.
The Feast of the Moon is between Uktar and Nightal.
The Feast of the Moon: This festival, also called Moonfest, is the last great festival of the year. It marks the arrival of winter and is also the day when the dead are honored. Graves are blessed, the Ritual of Remembrance is performed, and tales of the doings of those now gone are told far into the night. Much is said of heroes and treasure and lost cities underground.

Anyone have any information to corroborate this? I actually wondered to myself recently why there was no Selūne holy day on the Feast of the Moon...
@rjfras Thanks for the resource. I'd never heard of that and am going to spend some time today looking it over. :) |

I'm at work and unable to access my books...but I seem to recall that Selune's Hallowing was a date commemorating Selune's faithful driving the worshipers of Shar down to the docks in defeat.
The Night of Temple Fires in 1345 DR is what comes to mind.
As for the source, I don't recall...it would be that talks about Waterdeep or Selune specifically...I'll try to find out when I get home.

Rjfras' quote comes from page 29 of book III of the City of Splendors boxed set. Definitely canon!

| Back in 3E, WotC codified the synodic cycle for the Realms in the Campaign Setting book (I honestly can't remember if it was also done earlier). There's even a handy calendar tool on their (old) website, here. It's downloadable, and you can view moon phases, plug in important campaign dates, and pretty much go wild. |

Thanks so much to both of you! That's exactly what I was looking for. |
