Hello fellow scribes...
I have a great question about this little epic feat.
First of all lets for argument sake say, that we play 3.0 rules. Secondly we play a level 33 wizard, who have automatic quicken 3 times.
Now comes the questions:
1) When we have Automatic Quicken do we have to prepare our spells as quickened or can they be changes when we cast them? (Like the 3.0 Arch mage ability; Elemental Mastery)
2) If we truely have prepared/memorized all of our spell as quickened how many spell can we cast per round? (Again level 33, automatic quiken spell 3 times(3.0 rules))
Thanks!

1) all of you prepared spells you could cast as quickened, you would not need to prepare any of them as quickened spells.
2) There is another epic feat that allows you to do more than one quickened spell per round, but I cannot remember it ATM. |

The other feat your thinking of Hawkins is Multispell, which allows you to cast an extra quickenined spell a round. you are also able to pick it up multiple times to cast more spells a round, I used this on one of my villians threw the party for a woozy when they finally fought her and not one of them liked or bothered using the shield spell. Magic missile death for the win. |

So we would prepare spell normally, and when need be, simple caste them quickened... right?
Automatic Quicken Spell [Epic] You can cast any of your lesser spells with a moment's thought. Prerequisites: Quicken Spell, Spellcraft 30 ranks, ability to cast 9th-level arcane or divine spells. Benefit: You may cast all 0-, 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-level spells as quickened spells without using higher-level spell slots. The normal limit to the number of quickened spells you may cast per round applies. Spells with a casting time of more than 1 full round can't be quickened. Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Each time you take the feat, the spells of your next three lowest spell levels can now be quickened with no adjustment to their spell slots. Thus, a wizard who took this feat twice could quicken his 0- through 6th-level spells with no adjustment to their spell slots. This feat doesn't increase the casting time for those spells that normally become full-round actions when cast in metamagic form (including bard spells, sorcerer spells, and spontaneously cast spells, such as a good cleric's cure spells).

Correct. It simply allows you to cast any spell in your normal roster as a free (or swift) action instead of as a standard action.
