Sorry if this is an improper spot for this thread. But I've been playing??...reading??...using??? this app for the past few days and I freakin love it. I was addicted to Steve Jackson's books as a kid. The developers did a great job of integrating his work into a new medium. I'd highly recommend it if you have an iPad.

I'm surprised there was no chatter over this topic. Maybe I'm dating myself with the Steve Jackson books. But since I didn't have many friends to game with as a kid, the Choose Your Own Adventure books were like gold to me. Regardless, if you're a fantasy fan I would give the app a look. |

I do not have an Ipad, Steve Jackson ... I think I heard his name before. Some upstart I think *G* |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." Some classic Steve Jackson titles - notably OGRE - are far more entertaining as computer games than as paper games. Others - such as the original Illuminati box - gain their awesomeness through face-to-face antagonism, and so fare poorly as computer games. |

Illuminati is a cool game. It is definitely a game meant for in person play. I haven't played it in years though. I might have to pick up a new version of it for boardgame night. |

What Kentinal said holds true for me too. I think Mr. S. Jackson makes plush Cthulhu's toys ...right? |
I hope Candlekeep continues to be the friendly forum of fellow Realms-lovers that it has always been, as we all go through this together. If you don’t want to move to the “new” Realms, that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with either you or the “old” Realms. Goodness knows Candlekeep, and the hearts of its scribes, are both big enough to accommodate both. If we want them to be. (Strikes dramatic pose, raises sword to gleam in the sunset, and hopes breeches won’t fall down.) Enough for now. The Realms lives! I have spoken! Ale and light wines half price, served by a smiling Storm Silverhand fetchingly clad in thigh-high boots and naught else! Ahem . . So saith Ed. <snip> love to all, THO

I read some of the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, back in the day... But from those linked articles, it's not clear which Steve Jackson wrote them! It says one did most of them, but the other guy also wrote some! |

Yeah, US Steve Jackson is possibly the only person to ghost-write a book under his own name. |
