Hi everyone,

I'm currently running an adventure in the Moonsea Region. The first stage was set in a small city I invented, where the PCs dismanteled a Zhent spy, who had - with the help of a small band of orcs - cut the trade routes. The players are now to travel to Zhentil Keep - Im not sure where this will lead, but I guess it'll be quite nice if I get it right.

I'm therefore searching for all information how to run an adventure in Zhentil Keep. I've found this thread:

http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3664&SearchTerms=Zhentil,Keep

.. but I wanted to ask you if you ahve further recommendations or can give me general advice on how to present the Keep.
The adventure is set in the 3rd Edition Realms; I guess that a lot of Zhentil Keep was destroyed in the events of Prince of Lies.

Definatly Mysteries of the Moonsea, to get an 3rd Edition look at Zhentil Keep, which also provides information on the other major city states around the Moonsea. As for Background: Ruins of Zhentil Keep and The Moonsea supplements while they are pre- 3rd Edition they also have lore that may come in handy if you have your players suffer the wrath of the Zhentarim in the Keep.

The driving force in the multiverse is evil, for it forces good to act.

Definitely Ruins of Zhentil Keep too. Although the adventures were not great, the lore and general portrayal of the city was solid and more in-depth than any of the 3e products.

Thanks for your input, I'll try to get my hands in Mysteries of the Moonsea and Ruins of Zhentil Keep.

By the way, are there any official adventures set (partly) in Zhentil Keep?

I don't recommend trading PDFs that could be illegal...even a legit copy of Ruins of Zhentil Keep may no longer be legal to share as it isn't a free download from WotC currently.

I am just getting ready to get back to a game set in Zhentil Keep (though it is pre-Time of Troubles) here:

Feel free to get all the information I have; and I'd be glad to offer anything else that you might have specific questions on as a fellow DM.

The Old Grey Box and AD&D for me!

Indeed. The recent reprints are proof enough of that.

As I understand copyright law, even that which WotC distributed for free cannot be redistributed, without license, by any third party.

Thanks, I'll have a look at it. At the moment I think make the players not get into Zhentil Keep during the next session (next weekend) yet, as I think it's one of the highlights of the Realms (there's so much rumour about it in novels and games), so I want to get it right.
