Saw a link on Margaret Weis' facebook page that I think you all might enjoy: Masters of Fantasy - TSR: The Fantasy Factory.

This documentary is from 1997. As Weis noted, at least three of the people in the documentary have passed on: Gary Gygax, Brian Thomson, and Dennis Kauth.

Much love and thanks to those people and everyone else whose work inspired my imagination and creativity.

I hadn't seen that thanks for the link. It's an interesting video.

Rewatched it when it was making the rounds on G+ a few weeks ago. Good stuff. This was the first time I became aware of TSR as a brand/company, and Dungeons and Dragons really. Before I knew D&D was some "board game" a few friends mentioned, but I hadn't played it yet.

I remember originally watching this show on the Sci-Fi channel (well before it mutated into the current SyFy entity) back when it had a very "underground" "indie" vibe to it. They had some fun segments on at the time, like digging through a movie prop warehouse or giving Harlan Ellison a full 15 minutes to rant about the fallout of the Green Lantern/Parallax arc. That's stuff you don't see anymore, not outside of YouTube videos and the like. In a way, original Sci-Fi channel was ahead of its time on the geek forefront.
