I didn't hear about your first project, BUT this made me look at this project. Milady, you make beautiful music and I was happy to send a few dollars in your direction after listening to your samples. This will make beautiful music to listen to when I want to relax or work on personal projects. I only wish I had such creative talent.

just a note, the second reaper miniatures run is in its final hours. I'm really hoping that they hit the goal ($2,612,000) that puts out the demon lord of minotaurs into the expansion #2 option. I'm not wanting to buy that expansion set unless that shows up in it. If you'd like to see what it looks like, look under the updates page not the main page (main page isn't updated with it). It is one nice looking mini. In fact, under the add-on options, there are a lot of really good looking demons and devils.

It's a good thing I'm not into minis, because I'd've otherwise been dumping a lot of money on those Reaper Kickstarters. |

Yeah, I already have a pile from the first kickstarter. I can't believe I'm buying more, but I figure that at least for me, this will probably be the last time I buy minis in my lifetime... may as well go big. |

Ed's spreading himself mighty thin these days... he may just start to fade away....
I enjoyed those Princes Ark Gazeteers, but if I want to run a skyship campaign I can do so without a new world or set of rules based around it. That is, if its a standard fantasy world. I had heard about an off-beat variant of this awhile back, and I am still in-love with the idea. This project seems to be fairly standard fair (an Inner Sea? Now where have I heard THAT before?), so I'll pass.
{it may just be the Spelljammer-esque presentation that is turning me off}
Edit: Still, I wish him the best of luck. I like seeing 'old timers' returning to the fold after so many years. |

Most age-group 30+ table-top gamers and roleplaying gamers will have played, or at the very least, heard, of the HeroQuest game published by Games Workshop in association with MB games back in 1989.
Well, with the 25th anniversary coming up, Gamezone Miniatures has decided to publish and release a special celebratory boxed set of the core game. It's Kickstarter-funded [and I do specifically mean FUNDED!], and you can find further details here:- Heroquest 25th Anniversary.
I'm definitely backing this one. I lost my original copy of the boxed set during a move about ten years ago, and I've yet to replace it. So any chance to at least get back in on the game, is something I want to be a part of...

World of Calidar preview page is here

Ed is doing a city guide for Bruce's project
Cheers
Damian ps It would be great if, for instance, someone *cough* Ed *cough* could do a Kickstarter for an archipelago of islands somewhere in a storm tossed ocean where adventures could be set for players to lurch from one island to another fighting off the local monsters whilst exploring crypts and subterranean areas and desperately trying to get back to civilisation somewhere over there, perhaps a long way over there.....

Given its history in Dragon magazine, the fact that its author did a lot of the iconic artwork for early D&D material (including some FR material), and the very nature of the comic itself, I think Snarfquest meets the requirement of being "something closely related to role-playing games." |

I suspect this will hit its target pretty sharpish!

Bruce Heard's Calidar Kickstarter funded yesterday. Now onto stretch goals.
By the way, the project page includes details on Ed Greenwood's role in this. He is contributing the write-up for the city of Glorathon in the Kingdom of Meryath. It's the capital of the kingdom. This isn't even a stretch goal, it's already included in the book.
Bruce Heard has laid out some of the groundwork for this, including maps from the cartographer and some lore previews on his blog: http://www.bruce-heard.blogspot.com/ |

Here's a new Kickstarter of interest for Candlekept folk--an anthology (and potential 2nd anthology) in a cross-genre multiverse that has Ed Greenwood and myself attached for at least one or two anthologies (depending on how the funding goes).
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/qtgames/arcane-synthesis-a-blended-genre-anthology-cosmoth
I'm looking forward to working on these two stories (for both anthos, whether they both get funded now or later), as they'll be two inter-related stories that are closer in feel and mood and tone to some superheroic elements in old fantasy settings (ala the Shining Knight, the Black Knight, or a variety of cross-time worlds in the Marvel Universe, including that alternate medieval Avengers set up from Busiek's & Perez's Avengers reboot run).
Have I whetted enough appetites for some fun stories, even if ye FR fans might not normally go for such wild and wooly settings such as this? Hope so..... |

The name is a bit deceptive... It's a set of fourteen dice, including some weird ones, like a D7 or a D24, plus a D9 and a D11 on top of that.
Given my love of weird dice, I'm in on this one.
Probably done by the same guy that did all the even dice up to d20. I must admit to liking the idea of having a d14 and d16 as a "next step up" from d12 dmg on weapons. However, I kind of found it hard to tell some of the dice apart (the d18 to the d20 are very similar for instance). |

I'll be happy to have a d5 again. I had one of the original ones, given away by Dragon magazine, several years ago. Alas; it was not with my regular dice, and it melted along with everything else I owned. |

Seems cool, but I'm iffy, since I'm not a huge minis person. If they had the web UI up so I could play with it, I'd be a lot more inclined to get aboard... And if they had the option of pistols, I'd definitely get in to do a gun mage mini or two! |

Well, it's simply how I always remembered it -- Earthdawn is the setting for Shadowrun... just a few thousand years earlier on the same fictional Earth. It's one of the main points that attracted me to the world after I got started in Shadowrun.
But rather than meander around a brief synopsis for the world, I'll suggest this Wiki entry on Earthdawn which covers the basic dynamics and such. |

Regarding the Earthdawn kickstarter, this thread on RPG.net is not as certain of the project. (http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?711393-Earthdawn-4th-Edition-Announced-Today) partly because the company known as FASA Games (different from the original FASA Corporation who they licensed the ED setting from) is actually a renaming of an earlier company known as Redbrick, the prior licensee of the Earthdawn setting and publisher of a series of ED adaptations and reprints (reviews of those are lackluster). As well as a problem with delivering on a new edition of Fading Suns (the new edition ended up being a reprint of the old edition with some changes, not delivering on the proposed next edition changes as originally promised, a preorder may have been involved), which is probably the main reason for the ire thrown at them. The thread goes into more detail. |
