Very nice, I've been reading the new Legacy series month to month with Ania Solo. Not bad so far. I think the trade paperback for it is out now if you like that era.

As for Realms, I'm reading Lesser Evils. I'm almost finished with it, looking forward to The Adversary. :)

I should track down some of those old books. The Endless Quest books were the first fantasy books I read -- I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure stuff, back then.

I actually had re-obtained some of those books, but lost them in the fire, and haven't gotten around to buying them again. But I've got time. My son is only 2 and a half. He's still being introduced to Looney Toons.

I've actually been purchasing the individual issues as they're released. Just haven't had time to read it yet.

My understanding of the series, though, is that a Solo-descendent is the main character?

Struggling? I just got the new Assassin's Creed. Might be a week before I get back to this.

Finished The Magician's End after almost a month of struggle. What a huge disappointment. The epilogue saves it, almost (Phillip looks fun, literally). But I have to look at the bigger picture, which is near crap. Really, did Ray write this? A civil war that has no point except to show how "great" the conDoin brothers are, again. Showcasing yet another bunch of inept, stupid human antagonists. Shoving the main character offstage 90 percent of the time. Preachy, philosophical ramblings about life, existence, and horse dung. What a disastrous way to end a supposedly great series that spans three decades.

I shall endeavor to forget this book. Completely.

Every beginning has an end.

The Republic of Thieves was a huge disappointment. Wow, never thought I would say that I didn't fully enjoy a Scott Lynch book.

Not reading any novels at the moment. Picked up a copy of Fantasy and Science Fiction at B&N a few weeks ago though. They can be hit or miss, but there's sometimes some really good short stories and novellas in them.

Rereading my Count Brass omnibus; I'm on Book 3: The Quest for Tanelorn.

Dennis, what kind of rambling musings did Feist include in Magician's End, specifically? Metaphysis, the nature of good and evil...?

Of creation, good and evil, the relativeness of time, and the "one true bliss" that he kept repeating to the point that I barely managed to quash my impulse to throw the book away.

Nearly done with Sword of Damocles.

Not sure what I'll read next. Though the stacks of unread RPG sourcebooks to my right are providing more-than-subtle hints about where my reading should soon focus.

Back to comic books for me.

In fact, back to the 90's-era of Marvel books. I'm finally going to read the entirety of Spider-Man's "Clone Saga" with these neat TPB collections I've found that compile all the individual issues and story-arcs ... making them far easier to follow chronologically.

Starting with Volume One.

Just started Wormhole, the third and final book of The Rho Agenda. The series has been quite interesting, with the idea of two crashed alien spacecraft, based on different technologies, finding their way into different hands, and how things progress from there.

I think the next book will be another recent acquisition, Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. There is a steampunk book somewhere in the queue behind that one. The name of it escapes me, but I discovered it when my toddler -- who is a huge fan of trains* -- was in the bookstore with me and pointed out the cover, which shows a steam locomotive.

After that, I may revisit Middle-Earth. I've been feeling like reading those books again... And this close to the end of the year, my 2013 New Year's Resolution is quite fulfilled: thus far, 42 of the 63 novels I've read during the year have been new reads.

*Daddy isn't such a huge fan of trains, but Granpa, who lives locally, is a major railfan. He's looking forward to doing all sorts of train stuff with my son, once the little guy is a bit older.

Granpa is also the reason I keep finding all sorts of inaccuracies in Thomas & Friends, like when I noticed the other day a train going down another line despite the fact that the switch was thrown for it to remain on the mainline. My wife gets irritated at me for this.

Is this the same Joe Hill of the comic book series Locke & Key?

If so, then I need to check out this book. I love his work!

Yep, one and the same... I have not previously read any of his comics or any ofhis other novels (although I do have Horns on my Kindle). But I plan to go back and read more of his stuff now.

Slowly reading through The Godborn

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Yeap, it's just unclear what her lineage is. Fans seem to think she's from Jacen's side of the family, we'll see.
