Just finished Brimstone Angels. Got to be honest I found it it hard going. Characters just didn't engage me. Livened up at the end, but even so, found it a chore to finish. Nothing wrong with it per se, just felt it never got going. Really cant put my finger on it. I'll get Lesser Evils and see if it captures me, hopefully so , as I have the adversary on order ( as I do all the sundering books).

@ Wolly .Is this your first read through of Harry potter?

Nope, I generally reread those books once a year.

Wow and I thought that I was a big fan. You have my respect sir!

Well, I can't say I'm the hugest fan, since I've only read the main tale and none of the associated peripheral books (which I just found out about a year or two ago)... But I do enjoy the stories.

I read quite a lot, and some things I feel inclined to revisit frequently. I've read most of the Dresden Files books, the Hitchhiker's trilogy (the first four books, but not the fifth), and the Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends many, many times -- some of those are yearly or nearly so. And two of the books I read earlier this calendar year, I'm already wanting to read again, because I enjoyed the books that much. (I would have already reread them, if not for that annoying New Year's Resolution I made! )

Yeah Elfstones is pretty solid, though I did notice Terry doesn't go into quite as much detail with his descriptions...which might account for the 150 page difference between Elfstones and Sword.

Finished reading both Evermeet and E. Godz. Don't know what I'm going to read now. (I've got way too many books to choose from. *sigh* If only there were more than 24 hours in a day...)

Ulp!-you've passed me up, RW. I've got book 3 of the Brotherhood coming in from another library this week. (side note; I also got my library to for sure purchase The Godborn, and I'm the first placed hold for it!)

That said, I just finished 'Salt, Sugar, Fat' a book with an inside the industry look showing how convenience foods were shaped and how they shape our lives continually.

Oh, so true! Actually, I've decide to start reading the Sword of Shannara trilogy. (My DM lent me his copy of the 25th anniversary edition which combines all three novels in one volume. )

Cool, it's not really a trilogy though. Each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone but reading all three together gives you more backstory.

I am slowly making my way through Stephen King's The Tommyknockers at work.

At home I'm back to perusing the shelf of half-read books.

You have a shelf for half-read books? Did you just pick a string of bad ones?

I'm finished with A Storm of Swords. Now I've decided to read an old DL classic Reavers of the Blood Sea. It's one of the few DRAGONLANCE novels I didn't have in my library... until recently. So I'm eager to finally reach a point where I can say that I've read ALL the "Chaos War" series books.

That I do.

I suppose a few of the books on my half-read shelf fit that category.

Some are books I bought because they seemed interesting and they were cheap, but now I can't bring myself to admit they're just not that interesting, nor can I let myself get rid of them because, you know, they cost pennies on the dollar. It's like denying I got a good deal or something.

Others are books that are best consumed in small bites, because they're compilations of opinion pieces, magazine articles or short stories.

Some of them can only be taken on a piece at a time, because they're not one book but a whole series.

Others I keep because I started them and gosh darn it, I intend to finish them. Or they are gifts that I'd feel bad about if I didn't try to read at least a few pages.

And lastly, some of them are best read late at night, a little at a time, because the books are old and have the aged paper smell that every good book store or collection locked away in storage has, they've been passed around to different owners and have the hand-written notes, rusty paper clipped pages and lost hairs to prove it, or are the cast offs from some old library.

From these books I want a few pages of story at a time, so I can savor them.

Look for me and my content at EN World (user name: sanishiver).

Just Finished Cry of the Ghost Wolf.....wow.

It is a crime if Mark Sehestedt (sp?) does not write any more realms fiction.

Such a good story teller.

I'm on the sixth Harry Potter book... Been slow going, the last couple of weeks, because I've been rather busy. But I'm taking next week off, and going on a more reasonable schedule at work, so my pace will pick back up.

After Harry Potter will be the second and third books of the Rho Agenda. I rather enjoyed the first one. Lurue only knows what I'll be inclined to read after those books, though.
