Our 2e group is starting a new campaign in January. We're going back to the FR, and the setting will be:

-Moonsea (mainly Phlan) circa 1340
-pre ToT deities
-starting with Ruins of Adventure
-involving Cult of the Dragon as main antagonists
-eventual plan is to move the campaign south into the eastern dales/Sembia by way of the Elven Court
-possible foray towards Myth Drannor or the Lost Vale - depending on player choice of character goals

Rules we are using:
-2e core (DM, PHB)
-2e splatbooks (pruned list of kits)
-optional rules: individual initiative, weapon speeds, bonus spells for wizards based on intelligence (equal to clerics), individual xp awards, other minor house rules
-no Players Option books

I'll post updates on character creation and brief campaign journals as they happen.

You could use the Silver Dragon,Diogenes, as a secret patron for the Players. And please keep us inform on how things go.

I hope Candlekeep continues to be the friendly forum of fellow Realms-lovers that it has always been, as we all go through this together. If you don’t want to move to the “new” Realms, that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with either you or the “old” Realms. Goodness knows Candlekeep, and the hearts of its scribes, are both big enough to accommodate both. If we want them to be.

Enough for now. The Realms lives! I have spoken! Ale and light wines half price, served by a smiling Storm Silverhand fetchingly clad in thigh-high boots and naught else! Ahem . .
So saith Ed. <snip>
love to all,

Shottglazz,

Congrats on this. Sounds like a great campaign. Wish I lived in Ontario (assuming that is where Trenton is)...would love to be at that table! Let me know if email or Skype is something you are into.

About two months ago I started a campaign for my group in BC that is centered in Dagger Falls at the moment with a arc leading South and East. Am thinking a path through Myth Drannor and Eveningstar toward Selgaunt will transpire.

All 2e as well, circa 1367.

Same here, my planned campaign will take place in the Dalelands starting in 1367 DR. Check my post from a few days ago.

Looks like old school FR is getting a lot of love in the early days if 2013! :)

Sorry to ask a question that probably has been answered in a previous thread, but what map? If it is what I think it is, then me too please! :)

Once we finish our 4th ed campaigns (HOPEFULLY this will be the year it happens. People have graduated from uni so they should stop being quite so busy), I'm giving my PCs three options for which campaign to play next. Dark Sun (Pentad Prism with my own twists), 4th ed Forgotten Realms or 1357 DR Forgotten Realms. I've already developed the first two campaigns so I'm now working on the 1357 DR era of Forgotten Realms. I'm really enjoying myself.
