Going to start up a new game centered around Falcon's Hollow and the Darkmoon Vale saga published by Paizo. Want to place it in the Realms, preferably in either the North or the Western Heartlands. I'm considering the Delimbyr Vale or perhaps Sunset Vale.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Need more info.
EDIT: Just found you thread over at Paizo, and my 'best guess' suggestion would be in Fallen Sessrendale, which is located between Cormyr, Sembia, and the Dalelands. Since it is a 'lost' Dale, moving Falcon's hollow there disturbs almost nothing (as far as I can tell without more info). |

Well, the Darkmoon Vale (according the module) takes place in Falcon's Hollow a little river town that is currently under some type of plague. The heroes are charged to find the ingredients for a cure and they travel into Darkmoon Vale to find them. This brings them into contact with a pack of worgs, members of the Lumber Consortium (who really don't care much about the hard-working folk of Falcon's Hollow), and some other creatures as well. This short module is the kick-off point for a longer campaign that involves the Kobold King, werewolves, angry merchants, dragons, etc. |

I edited my above post but you have since responded - I still think Sessrendale is perfect.
On This Map it is misspelled, but you can see the words between the Thunderpeaks and the Cormanthor forest. The main town was located just above the 'd', but you have two rivers there to choose from, mountains, woods, etc... and its in an area between other major nations, but not a part of any.
The history of the place is that it was attacked and destroyed by Archendale a century past, but you can just ignore that small bit of history an do what you want there. |

Using the pre-Spellplague Realms, I'd suggest somewhere on the Sembia/Dalelands border. The Lumber Consortium running the area through intermediaries fits perfectly with Sembia, and the heavily wooded nature of the Dalelands/Cormanthor makes for a good substitute for that part of Andoran.
A second idea would be to place it in the King's Forest in Cormyr, right up against the Stormhorns. (Mountains will be useful for a dungeon that shows up in the adventure arc.) |

I'll so some research on that region and see what I think about it. I'm more familiar with the North than any other part of the Realms. But thanks so much for all of the great ideas! Between this forum and the Paizo forum, I have some great regions to choose from! |

I've included a few Darkmoon Vale adventures in Kingmaker, I moved some Border Kingdoms and River Kingdoms in the Great Dale region.
More Realms based would be the Vilhon Reach. Andoran and Turmish have similar views on freedom and work, kobolds have history with Hlondath, Chondath could be Taldor, their woodcutting tradition fits the Lumber Consortium, Ironfang Deep dwarves, there's a fae in the region, and plagues ... |

If you want The North, just about anywhere is good.
Referencing This Map, you see where it says "The Moonlands", right below The Night Trees? Somewhere there, near the river, just to the left and slightly above the 's' in "Moonlands". That looks like an ideal location to me - you've got all the necessary terrain features nearby (and the river runs in the correct direction). Like This.
However, like I said, just about anywhere in the North works - there are tons of tiny forests and streams which don't appear on the maps. |

Gotta love Druidic Werewolves...
I agree the Moonwood would be a great spot. |

Decided to go with the Moonwood area as the setting for Darkmoon Vale. My players are very excited about this - doing a 2E conversion of "Hollows Last Hope" and running it old-school style. Typing up the intro post right now - thanks to Markustay (the maps did it for me!) and for all the advice from everyone else! |
