Hey all,
If you are a Candlekeep scribe doing Deneir's work at GenCon, use this scroll to announce what you hear, what you see, and what you think!
Hope to chat with lots of folks in attendance.

There might be a high amount of interest. I'm hoping WotC has planned for that and their server won't crash.
Cheers |

LOL - you mean like when their countdown clock crashed their site when it hit zero, when they announced 4e?
That was just funny as hell. Sorry, but it was...
Looking back, that was one of those 'whisper of things to come' moments.
I am sure hundreds of sites (blogs, twitters, etc) will be 'reporting' on Gencon's events, which is good, because CK couldn't handle that kind of traffic. I doubt even WotC's new servers could. Better to spread it around (for instance, I could see Enworld crashing). The only thing more frightening then 'nerd rage' is nerd enthusiasm. |

John, art director, is talking about the new style, using owlbears as an example, drawing on all eras. |

I loved that Ed aside as well. Otherwise, it was pretty much a bust for me. Way too many platitudes and not enough substance. Even from Ed, though at least from him I had the pleasure of listening to his enthusiasm. I just can't share it. At least not yet.
And I really don't understand how any kind of RSE can fix things. The Realms isn't the scenery, it's the people, and 4e killed them all off. So unless that RSE takes us back in time, I don't see how it can make things any better.
Still, at least we got a designer to admit more or less that the Spellplague was a bad thing. That's enough progress to keep me at least watching from a distance. |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

Yes, I share the same doubts. Tomorrow (AFAIK) they will say more about this... |
