I m running a campaing currently and there is a twilight elf in the party.Twilight elves look like elves but they are good I don't know if it is an official race. Well they can be easily detected by only people who saw drow before so this is my questions: How does the goblins and orcs like lesser creature respond to only one drow while they are about 35 at least who has a leader of course on surface? How does other races respond to a drow? How does officals and patrols of a city respond?

Races such as goblins and orcs would fear a drow. Drow have been known to take orcs, goblins, and other such creatures as slaves. A human commoner would also fear a drow. Elves hate drow with a passion. All of the other goodly races have similiar feelings about drow. |

I know they would fear and be cautios of drows but how do they respond in specific encounters such as does a band of orcs flee from a drow fighter or do humans attack drows without question? Elves would probebly attack one if he or she is in their terrirtory but what does an elven party do if they see only one drow? |

Only one? Well a commoner might not attack it head on but a guard or good adventurer might. I'm sure orcs and goblins would attack it the odds were in their favor like 10 to 1 so that they would gain respect in their clan or tribe. An elven band of scouts or adventurers would attack a drow on sight unless it was Drizzt Do'Urden or someone like that. |

I can't speak for Elven politics so I can't say whether Drizzt would be attacked on sight, but I do know that he doesn't walk around with a T-shirt proclaiming "Drizzt, the Friendly Drow" or "I'm Drizzt, Do'nt Urt'me"
Typical Elven response? "Oh, you're Drizzt as well, are you? You must be the tenth one we've caught today. Put him with the others, lads!" |

If the drow kills their 6 of them and throw their heads towards the others I believe the orcs and goblins would be intimidated at least However I only people and drow relations of the drizzt books and in nesme the guards didn't allow him and his friends get near to the city and didn't attack him but the village where barghast slaghtered a village family they started man hunt I think the attitude will depend on the situation But if our twilight elf enters a lawful city tavern, people and the guard will think of him as he is a drow and what would they do about it?Probebly guard will check his papers but I think others will be hostile and the guard would not be so willing to stop an outrage. What do you people think about it, are there any more suggestions for a behavioral pattern to drows |

It depends but I think commoners are very hostile to drows. Some might tolerate them but I'm sure you'l find that someone will attack you if they have the odds on their side. But I think everyone will look at the drow before the kill, and humans do not attack a drow often if their not many, if their not some stupid paladin beliving he are SOOOOO strong, so one of them will probably reconise you if you are famus like Drizzt. But if not... |

Hey Jander - this has already been discussed in this scroll, but it never hurts to bring up the topic again. Just don't let Alaundo catch you. You know how he gets about duplicating scrolls! |

Humans: "Lets kill em like we kill everthing else!" Drow: "Let me stab him/her in his back and I will get his/her fame etc." Elves: Oh poor cousins let me give you the pitty you deserve for falling to the darkness. Dwarves: "I bet they be, being tating good with ketchup." Half-Lings: "Oh dear lord let us hide!" Gnomes: "Lets see if I dop this little bomb here thats a few of them gone, but then again the damn darts sting a bit and *yawns .... ZZZzzzZZZzzz." Orcs: " Whazza Thaz? Um smash. Kill smash. I think they taste good. But they have prickly things. Be very careful. Server if must till time to smash." Thiefling ( the ones found in the FR book. The elven breed which I have forgoten the name of): "Foolish dark skined bastards. YOu whish to know the true meaning of evil? The true ways? Then DIE!" ( <--- Fave elves!!! ) |

Right. They're half-demons, so to speak; the result of a mating between mortal and demon-kind. Exact opposites of aasimar, who are mortal/celestial mixes.
Now, here's something that's just annoying me. 'Drow' is both the plural and the singular. One drow, two drow.
As for attitudes . . . you should go with what's described in Salvatore's books. That pretty well sums it up. It should -- I'd think he actually had a hand in this subject, wouldn't you? |

Ezindir, here's a little more to add onto what the Bookwyrm has already said -
Tieflings are one of the most varied and individualistic groups in the multiverse. No two are alike. A tiefling could be a mass of twitching flesh, all mouths and tentacles, the off-spring of hordling depravities. Or, a tiefling could be no different from a human with a few discoloured patches to his skin...or something even less noticeable, say...having two hearts. Given the variety of tieflings, nobody could hope to detail the patterns their genetics weave. However, a few traits crop up rather frequently, depending on the family of the tiefling.

Actually sage in the FR book there is a clan of them that end up rather to alike. The elven kind, and the Orc kind. They all generate the same powers for their orc or elven mix. I will get the names posted up next time I am on which might not be for two weeks. |

Seeing drow walking through the woods at high noon isnt a normal sight (and dont pull that " what if its night" crap cause they wouldnt see him if it was night{hes sneaky like that}) Not to mention he wears a green cape and a Unicorn head amulet. every elf in the north would know about drizzt. a good rouge or disguise artist would be able to copy him pretty easily if the group had never seen him before but the drows actions and stuff should be enough to be able to tell the differance.

Drizzt reputation is based on his friendship with Alustriel since he did nothing for others openly. But Drizzt is an exaption well lets say my family is destroyed by another's I found my way to the surface with the help of a good alligned party. But they deserted me afterwards and after I get comfortable with sun I start to help the less fortunate but when I killed a goblin tribe that was killing peoples animals what would the villagers do when they found out the one who killed their enemy without any cast was me? |

Personally the Drow are good as they are (with the exceptions of untrue Drow such as Drizzt). Were they not so popular they would be my Favorite Elven race... but as it stands other like the Drow too much, but not enough on their mighty Civilization. Glory to the Spider Queen!!! |
