I'm running a campaign in 1375 campaign, based in an incoming war between Baldur's Gate and Amn (the country currently in a civil war between "Councilists" and "Royalists", with the Six being severly weakened and holding only the Cloud Peak Massive plus Crimmor and Esmeltaran), and i've some minors issues with that.

1)How far the political power of Baldur's Gate is established?
Ulgoth's Beard and Veldinaar seems to be autonomous but heavily linked to the Gate, as Ulgoth's serves then as a outpost to surveil eventual pirates attack and Veldinaar as an outpost for the Flaming Fist and as a food producer for the city.
But, on the Trade Way, only Beregost seems to be on Baldur's influence, and during the "Iron Crisis" period, the FF "protected the city".
It's maybe non-canon, it was for a PC game, but maybe it could indicate a certain political influence of the Grand-Dukes up to Beregost?

2)What are the consequences of the "Eternal Sun" of Elversult?
One of my players is a Priest of Lathandre, and he want to come in the city to know more about that.
How the sun is working? It is always at the zenith, without never dawning even the night?
Then, i suppose that Lathandre's clergy is quite mediative and waiting about that, but how the common believers can react? Opposition, acceptation, vive interest?
Could it lead to a sort of local council about it, in order to clarify that for the population?

3) The "Royalist" side, sort of alliance of all the amnish miscontents, by supporting the abandon of Maztica and the revival of "their internal forces" : more about the commercial interest of eastern cities while praising the "old good times before the greed". Not regarding the goals of the leaders, it is possible that this sort of slogans could influence some important guys in Trailstone and Ritavin?
What could be the the reaction of Tethyr about the revival of claims on their northern border?

4)A more technical problem.
For a game, i need to have a group "A" making a assasination attempt and disguising themselves in group "B" that try to impersonate the "A".
For resume , "A" try to confuse people by making obvious proof accusating them. How can i make fake proof against "B",without making that too obvious, and critically REAL proofs involving "A" at the end?

1) There's not much canon information on that, when I played there the Dukes were mostly concerned with their city, they only collected taxes and protected the trade routes only half-way up to Beregost and Elturel. Tough our GM had a few additional large city-states and the Moonshaes were closer. Beregost was protected from Amn by the Lords Alliance, not that Amn was interested ever since Azoun defeated them. North of Baldur's Gate the influence of the Dukes was weaker, there's a lot of pirates there and small realms similar to the Border Kingdoms (in the Fields of the Dead).
