A good site to check is rpol.net, which has thousands of pbp games going at any time and provides a forum for it. It's not the friendliest of interfaces, but you get used to it. I'm part of three or four games over there currently, in multiple settings.
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well.
