Hello Candlekeep! Long time reader, first time poster. Any way I am constructing a character background for my sun elf knight and was hoping to make him an exile of sorts due to the wrong doings of his house (which I would like to be either the Nimesin or Ni'Tessine). Now does anyone have any idea what has happened to these houses? Is Kymil the last of the name or are there others in the current continuum (1374 I mean) and if so what was their fate? I've searched long and hard but could find nothing about the current state of either of these two families so anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

You might wish to wait a little longer. Yesterday was Sunday, and many people have family plans on the weekend. Be patient, my friend. For as they say, patience is a virtue. |

Elaine Cunningham might know more. I recall she's revisiting the realms and thus is possibly writing new material on the elven houses she created. You'll probably have to wait a few because of NDA's though.
I'd say your initial hunch about their fate is correct: Nimesin and Ni'Tessine lost face amongst the ruling noble houses in Evermeet and are hard-pressed to make amends for the failings/betrayals of their kin. Some might have taken up the sword to wash away their sins in blood by joining Seiverils Crusade and the retaking of Myth Drannor. Some still think Evermeet is too weak (or their enemies are too strong) and seek to weaken opposition by joining the Eldreth Veluuthra.
The Fey politics on Evermeet can be very brutal and punishments can be severe, and ideologies can rise and fall on a whim. The message of Kymil Nimesin still lingers in quite a few houses though; a few houses still hold Amluriel as a weak despot who needs replacement and work towards that goal. The one thing the stronger houses resent the most though is the reality of Evermeets current weakness because of Nimesins meddling: he dared to bring in outsiders to change the situation to his own liking, bringing ruin by doing so.
Isolation was one of the means the Elves of Evermeet regained some of their former mastery over their destiny. Nimesin changed that view radically and more and more houses are opting for pro-activly reassuring safety for the Fearunian Elves, a very rare thing for fey to do. But when they do opt for action, it usually results in barely controllable storms of activity, inspiration and discussion fueling a hunt for the then percieved foes. Seiverils Crusade (one such storm) has already passed its greatest momentum but it has sparked renewed vigor in younger elves across the Realms to actually DO something for their race/house. |

Ah good,I am glad my initial impressions seems to be heading the right way. Sorry if I was coming of as impatient I was just eager to get a response. As of now I am making the character a Sun Elf lancer/knight as it seems in the Elves of Evermeet that this was often seen as their traditional area of expertise in war. He is exiled to the Dales for his family's (Kymil's in particular) misdeeds which he hopes to expunge by dutiful service to the elven cause. Despite this he is still a sun elf and probably holds tightly many of his people's aspirations and prejudices but finds the dishonor of working with non elves and open sedition as unjustifiable means to an end. He believes that if their cause is valid then the gods will favor it in the end and that clearly fate has not worked in their favor for a reason. At least that is the ball I've been kicking around in my head so far. What do you guys think? |

Well met Preter & welcome to Candlekeep
I'm afraid I have little to add to Joran's and Bladewind's posts but i'd love to know more about your character!
If you have the time it would be great to see him statted out (whatever edition of the game) so we can all have a look
