I'm voting for Brightwater, because it seems the best place to hang out, out of all of those on the list.

I went for "other", and personally would love to visit Ravenloft. I love the various cultural level there, the diversity, and how picturesque it is during the day. I'd have to go exploring, wander a few Mistways, meet the Vistani. And then I'd have to look up my ranger there from Mordent, as well as the Weathermay-Foxgrove twins.

The 3e of the RAVENLOFT game introduced some cool planar-travel aspects toward the end of White Wolf's license with the setting. [Van Richten's Guide to the Mists]

They followed my most prominent Realms NPC -- Rastromo Meradoc [the Sage] -- into the Realms when he returned from a brief sojourn in the Domains of Dread. [And where he originally met his lady love... the Lady Kazandra.]

I consider myself lucky to have been in the campaign-company of three incredibly talented ladies.

I fully agree. I have to say that 3e made Ravenloft an even more wondrous setting than it was before. Also, have you seen the fan conversion done at the Fraternity of Shadows of 3e Ravenloft to Pathfinder? It's called Mistfinder, and I can mail it to you, if you'd like to look it over.

They did? Interesting! Can you tell me a bit more about why they'd leave the Land of Mists to come to the Realms, and did they eventually return? In your campaign, did they find out what the true fate of Dr. Van Richten was? I know when I read over Van Richten's Guide to the Mists that Gennifer is there at Richten Haus where Salissar is as well, and he/it keeps hinting at the man that resides there.

I have to say I'm envious. I run a campaign with the twins in it, and they know my ranger well. He lost his fiancee to a mist claimer, and has the Haunted feat. Their love keeps her there, and he's not really the man he was (back before he became a PC ;) ). He's still hunting the thing that killed her in front of him, and sees its face in every mirror he gazes into. How can he not, when the killer was, in a way, him? Nathaniel Hawke (Nathan to those close to him) grew up with Gennifer and Laurie, and he went to them for help when he recovered and the anchorites released him. I even have a bit of a story I was working on with him in it, but never finished it, sadly.

In character, my namesake npc has two seperate homes in Baator already. Doesn't get to spend enough time there, though. Needs some redecorating, spend some time with the kids, that sort of thing.

My most prominent pc(half-orc paladin) would choose Nishrek, get a view of what's waiting for him.

well yall i choose the plane of dwarfhome because ive always wanted to see Moradins hammer. if so many dwarves are always talking about it it must be a sight to behold indeed. also i would try to learn all i could from the master dwarven blacksmiths of yore.

House of Knowledge or Dweomerheart, don't know, they should have merged these two planes.

For planar breaches the Blood Rift is the most interesting. I would add Mask's domain below Brightwater for more intrigue.

I second the notion of giving a visit to Dweomerheart. It's description in the Empyrrean Odessey was very colorful. Its got wondrous vistas, people and objects around every corner; a bit like a grand carnival of magic!

I'll have to dig out my old notebooks for the particulars, but yes, I do recall Rastromo and the Twins [and, to a lesser extent, the Lady Kazandra] determining "a" fate for Van Richten. [I'm being rather deliberate with my categorisation of "fates."]

I'm glad you replied. I was beginning to wonder if I'd bothered you by talking so much. Happens when I talk about Ravenloft at times. I love the richness of the characters, of the villains, and the world about them. It's tied as a favorite setting of mine with the Realms.

I'll mail you one straightway, just please send a piece of mail back to let me know it arrived safely, if you would.

I understand. If you'd care to send me a summary in an e-mail or a PM, I'd love to read it. And I'm glad you have had a few fun adventures in the Land of Mists as well. Oh, would you care to read a little something of mine from my character, Sage? It's not overly long, and I'd be honored if you'd consider it, at least.

Why would anyone want to go to Hell?!? I chose other. Arborea sounds nice.

I guess this qualifies as Arborea. I agree with you Kno. This is a vacation spot, filled with petitioners of Sune and Sharess.

Sorry for the double post. I felt the need to clarify. I'd now vote for Brightwater.

You kidding? They have sins we don't even have names for yet! It's great! And the food? You can dine on the souls of gluttons. It's like eating murder marinated in sin. It's bliss.

That's easy enough to avoid. You just have to be badder, nastier, and more cunning than those around you. Make sure they know that looking at you funny will result in the forcible removal of their spines. The higher ups will find your bravado amusing and allow you to remain and entertain them whilst sampling the fineries and concubines.

Indeed. In addition, don't be too ambitious as to challenge or provoke those whom you know could crush you with a flick of their fingertips.

Other for me!

I would want to kick it old school in Sigil.

That way I could visit any place I wanted.

I prefer the Great Wheel planes for the Realms, but having said that, either Elysium or Sigil.

Selune's deific domain in Ysgard and its adjoining entryway to the Infinite Staircase would be in the running as well.

I really need to get back to designing that one-shot campaign I was attempting to put together for adventures on Elysium.

Since we seem to be talking Great Wheel, I'll go with Olypmia, and kick it in Arvandor. Sigil sounds fun, too, though. Pike it berks, or the Lady of Pain will let you visit one of her mazes!! LOL!!

i know its not one of the chocies but i would really like to visit the realm of Mask. it would be interesting to visit the place he calls home. also on that note, it may seem strange but i would like to visit the wall of souls just to glimpse it breath taking awesomeness and horror.
