So I wasn't a fan of the setting, though I did pick up a few books for it -- mostly psionics-related stuff. But, for those who were...
This month's sale from Paizo and American Eagles includes a lot of Dark Sun material. I've already placed my order, and I'm sure some others will want to get in on it.

I got most of the novels from used bookstores, at much, much less prices. In good condition, too. |

I don't understand, are these reprints? Or just overstock that they have had for about 1.5 decades? |

I imagine it's either left-over stock, or simply stuff that's been gathering dust for years. These print editions are all first-prints... judging from the covers and product codes.
I'm definitely tempted to take advantage of this... but the price for shipping is always a killer for me. |

From what I understand, it's original stock that's gathered dust for all this time. |

I picked up all of the novels scattered in a couple of lots, from eBay, a few years ago. I was working on replacing my Realms novels, but the seller had a couple of mixed lots... So I wound up with all of the Dark Sun novels, without even trying.
I've only read 6 of them, though. |

At least you've read a couple. Me, not a single one...yet. When I'm about to read one, there's always something more interesting that appears out of nowhere and totally captivates me, or I'm suddenly driven by a mad desire to reread a favorite novel. Hopefully, that would change next month. Lynn Abbey's The Rise and Fall of Dragon King is on No. 8 of my To-Read list. And upon a strong recommendation by a friend, whose choice of books I usually trust, I might put it on No. 2. I only read one of her works, The Simbul's Gift, and I loved it. |

From what I've read on the Paizo site, they purchased the stock of a local Seattle gaming store, named American Eagle. The owners were retiring. Paizo now has a limited stock of these older, out-of-print items. |

Alas, TSR ruined Dark Sun for many fans, with those damn novels :( As was typical back then, they made settings follow a novel line, ugh
instead of leaving Athas as this harsh, mysterious, barbaric world for players/DMs to have free reign with, they put straight jackets on it with a stupid damn metaplot that makes no sense, based of mostly so-so novels which usually have terrible plot/history/logic holes in 'em,and that let them put out the "NEW REVISED!" boxed sets..like they also did for Ravenloft (another disaster) and...FR (OMG, I HATED the last 2nd ed campaign boxed set of the Realms, the production values sucked flumph butt, yuck!)
the latter series of Dark Sun books, starts with "Brazen Gambit", are more fun, IMHO, but do yerself a favour and IGNORE the whole bloody awful metaplot/official history *shudder*
The Dragon of Tyr just *is*, it is there to crunch you up with ketchup and keep PCs and players scared poopless! :P |
