Hi!
I was wondering if there's a book, preferable a novel but anything will help, detailing how Khelben Blackstaff freed Alustriel from the Demon and hence marrying her?

I don't recall this tale... Are you perhaps referring to how Khelben freed Laeral from the influence of the Crown of Horns?

You mean Laeral, Alustriel is one of the other seven sister (the one ruling Silverymoon). AFAIK, there are no novel about that event.

I think you mean Laeral, not Alustriel, and no, I don't believe there's a novel exactly (though the novel Blackstaff wouldn't be a bad start), but it's discussed in various sourcebooks. I'm away from my books at the moment.

It amuses me that there were three responses in less than one minute, on this one.

Hehe.. My mistake. Darn sisters.. I'm currently reading SilverFall - hence the mistake. But I've always been intrigued by the story and Khelben is, big surprise, sort of my hero. So I hoped that there was some concrete material on the story - actually I'm quite surprised that there's never been a novel on this and since the timeline has moved way beyond this point in history I guess there'll never be one.

I don't recall reading this story, but it has always fascinated me too. How Laeral got the Crown of Thorns.

There is a considerable write up on Laeral's story in "The Seven Sisters" 2nd Edition book but not really much of a narrative story of the event. It shares 2 advernturers (a ranger and a bard?) who Laeral is/was still in contact with from The Nine (the group she was with when she found the Crown).

In various books I know her and Khelben have had words about it (Hand of Fire, some of the Shadow trilogy) in relation to how people who do evil acts may be saved when Khelben wants to go destroy some threat like Shandril and Laeral reminds him how she was once dangerous but was saved rather than destroyed.

There are some scenes/lore bits regarding the Nine in Elminster Must Die, which details the fates of at least two of them.

There's some pertinent tidbits in the old Hall of Heroes accessory.

Would it be possible to ask Greenwood on the So Saith Ed thread if he would consider making a stort somewhere in the future?

You're free to ask the Old Bearded One such queries, of course.

I found the compilations of Qs to Ed but these ended in 2008. Did it stop because there were too much work in the proces?

No. The resulting halt in the "So Saith Ed" archives is mainly due to the fact that I've been busy with other things in the past and simply didn't have the chance to hand them over to Alaundo for uploading to the main site.

Rest assured, however, that my compilations are now up-to-date... as of last week's lot of Ed's replies -- this includes all the 2008, 2009, 2010, and now 2011 files as well. Which, hopefully, Alaundo will be including in the next upcoming site update.

I'm at awe at the great work at this site and I truly love the design. It's all in the words, sentences, stories, lores, compendiums... Just like it would be at the shores og The Sword Coast..

It's also because I got to busy to take care of them due to being in class all the time. :) So, Sage was nice enough to take over the project from me.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Aumvor the undying is the one who arranged for Laeral to come across the crown, although neither her or Khelben ever found out it was him. It is detailed in Aumvor's bio

Aumvor is thoroughly detailed in Champions of Ruin.
