As some of you know, I have been running an FR campaign adventure series (a 4-part adventure) that has moderate influences from the Far Realm upon some of the creatures and environments of the Realms. As part of the continuing series of adventures, I have several write-ups of creations that are particularly 'Far Realmish' that are to be used in the 3rd adventure. I also have several creatures that will most likely not be used. As yet, most of the semi-finished creatures do not have stats, but the write-ups and background materials for each are rather interesting as they (in part) describe my personal interpretation of the Far Realm.

So what I really want to know is...are there any scribes here who would be interested (or maybe find some use) in reading the first few write-ups that I have (with the possibility of more on the way, once the other adventurers are finished)?.

I'll wait for some replies before I post. (Also, Alaundo if you think this topic isn't FR enough to be allowed here, feel free to remove it.)

Indeed sage I would love to see some of the far realmsish creatures your research has created...

That's great to hear. I'll see about posting my 'Far-Realm' inspired conversion of the classic chososion from the PSMC III sometime tomorrow.

Okay, I know I said that I would be posting some creatures this week, but other projects have taken up most of my time (my Ravenloft game ran overtime on Saturday and my local gaming store was having a closing-down sale on Sunday), leaving me with little opportunity to work on what I was going to post. I should have something by next week though, possibly Wednesday or Thursday, so please check back then.

You're without a local gaming store, Sage?

It's not really a problem since I purchase most of my gaming material online anyway. There are other gaming stores, but they are expensive. Buying online I can save myself some money, and also receive the books several weeks before they are released here in Perth.

On the plus side, I managed to get my hands on some Star*Drive tomes that I had been missing for my collection - all at half-price .

Ah. See, in my case, the local stores(there are three of them) are basically gamer social clubs first, and stores second. A group I'm in plays at one of them, and I buy most of my supplies there, not having a credit card for online purchases. Just making sure you wouldn't be having problems, as that would send ripples through the community...

What do you mean?.

Most of the 'gamer social clubs' around me are based at the universities. In fact there are several at my university alone...

I know of at one at my high school, and there is possibly another. I know there's one at the local middle school. I don't know of others in other locations, due to lack of exposure. But two of these stores are where all the groups meld, and nearly everyone heads to one of those two stores for a game of something after school, whether it be Magic, a short D&D session, or something else.(it was interesting to see a group of Vampire:The Something[Redemption?] players Larping their way down the main street in a large city).
Having either one of those two close(one did for a while)sends ripples through the local community.

Vampire: The Masquerade. An interesting game. I have played in a few sessions from time to time. It's a unique experience to role-play from the vampire's perspective. I would recommend it to all those gamers who like vampires...

I'm more of a Mage:The Ascension fan myself.
Thanks for the help, Sage.

I know it may seem to some that I had forgotten about this particular scroll, but rest assured I have not. Study and exams have left me with precious little time to work on my creations, but I will be adding some new creatures soon...just in time for the end of the year...

On the Far Realm

I've seen it all... not all as you know it, but all as you don't want to know. See... I was beyond this world, and I don't mean beyond this plane of existence. I mean as beyond ALL of this. Before or after time. You know of the fortress at the beginning and the end of time? I went through it, and let me tell you one thing - I will never regret it!

You see... how should I put it? Everyone that knows of Outside, thinks it is a horrible place, full of monstrosities, secrets that were not meant to be known, and insanity. They are all wrong! WRONG! The truth is, that place is a mirror of this world. Or this world is maybe a reflection of that place... Who knows? But, I know it is so.

I was to Sigil there... Or Anti-Sigil, if you will... It is not so different from this Sigil. The bloods there are as self-obsessed as they are here, but there are slight differences. Take the Spire for instance - there isn't one. There is an infinite hole there, and Sigil is floating at the bottom of it. And it is turned inside out. Dark as pits of Abyss, let me tell you... But folk there ignore you, just as they do here. Or they don't, if you get my drift.

They may look different, and they may speak different, but they are the same people. You know that butcher from the Hive? What's his name? Mar... Mardunk? That's the one! His mirror-person there owns a butcher shop, too. But you wouldn't like the stuff he has. Too tentacled... And their Hive looks little better...

But the most important thing... The one real difference there is... the gods... they have access to Sigil. They are not powers as we know it here, but they ARE gods. And their Lady is a horror to look upon. She has no crown of blades as ours does. She has tentacles... like a displacer beast, only hundreds of them... and the sound they make... something awful... And she is a power of powers...

One of those powers of theirs got a bit too cocky in her kip, and she really mopped the floor with him... You know how She uses her shadow? Well, this one uses it too. Only, hers grows out of the floor, and sort of pulls you in. Words can't describe it... and it is messy...

There are no Dabus there, you know? In their stead are some five sided vegetable pyramids, with stars on top. Disgusting things, leaving a trail of slime behind them... And there are the...

As you listen to the old lunatic, you notice a commotion in the street. Directly from behind the old coot, you can see the Lady coming. He doesn't notice her, and you think he may not even notice you as he rambles on. And as her shadow is falling over him, you see clarity in his eyes.

"She comes for me!"

And a moment later, there is only a flayed corpse in front of you. As she leaves, a shadow grows from the ground, and pulls the corpse in. You know you should run, and you run. Half the ward further, you duck into a dark alley, and catch your breath. And then you notice him. Or, you notice yourself, standing six feet from yourself. But it is not you, and yet it is. Your skin doesn't move as though a hundred snakes crawls under it. Yet his/yours does.

He walks those few steps towards you, and offers you a hand. You take it, too shocked to do anything else, and he helps you get to your feet. With that touch, you know all of it is true. And the cold blade that sticks out of your chest is proof. As darkness falls over you while he lifts you in his arms, you see two small red eyes. A cranium rat... And then you finally die.

I know that last post probably sounded a little bizarre, but it's just one of the many 'theories' on the Far Realm that I have been thinking about of late.

It also leads into the discussion of my first Far Realms inspired FR creature...which will be ready very soon.

Sorry for the great delay Cardinal. I know that of most of the scribes here who have an undestanding of planar lore, you are the most interested in this work I am about to present.

Trust me, your wait shall not have be in vain...
