Hello,
One or two years ago, i managed to find a list of the dwarven clans in rhe Realms but i lost the link to the website. Does anybody know where i could find it? It might even be in Candlekeep but i can't find it.
Thanks a lot for your help.

For a number of years I've been putting together a (hopefully) complete list of dwarven names, including clan and house names. It's sort of lain fallow for a while, since I got a job and didn't have the endless amount of free time as I did when I was unemployed.
I offered to share it with the Keep, and let Alaundo host it, much like the list of elven names. I'm not sure I heard back from him, but I'd still be happy to have CK host it. It's incomplete, but not by a whole lot.
While we wait on that, the bare-bones list of clans comes from FR 11 Dwarves Deep. Check that book, if you have it. |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

Northern Clans
Arnskull Battlehammer Blackbanner Bucklebar Darkfell Deepaxe Deepdelve Eaglecleft Foehammer Gallowglar Hillsafar Horn Jundeth Narlagh Orothiar Quarrymaster Rockfist Stoneshoulder Stoneshield Trueforger Watchever Worldthrone Wyrmslayer Yund
Southern Clans
Belindorn Bladebite Crownshield Gemscepter Ghalkin Goldthumb Gordrivver Malthin Mastemyr Sorndar Talnoth Undurr Velm Zord
Those are Clan names as listed in Dwarves Deep. I must also list Ironstar for they are believed extinct. There are maybe more that are extinct and their names and lore are Forgotten. I think I read somewhere that dwarves sometimes guard their clan names as to avoid drawing attention to their homelands unless it is an honorable cause. |

In addition to the list, you have the Brightblade clan of Daggerdale. They have a small abandoned hold near Dagger Falls, and the main clanhall is futher south in Anathar's Dell. |

Don't forget the legendary Clan Ironstar.

Don't forget the small but noteworthy Clan Mealairkyn from Undermountain: The Lost Level. |

Oh, and most (in)famous of all... clan Duergar (original from Barakuir, Deep Shanatar)
Also Ironhelm (dwarven scholar Bryth Tolar of Clan Ironhelm in Mirabar, Wyrmskull Throne p54)
And the Iron House of Tethyamar

The thread got me going a bit more and regarding Deep Shanatar and High Shanatar I have been able to come up with the following clans per kingdom (main sources Lands of Intrigue, Drizzt's Guide to the Underdark and the 3e Underdark)
Clans from Deep and High Shanatar: High Shanatar Axemarch (created when High Shanatar was founded LOI p21, from clan Velm and possibly others)
Alatorin Shanat
Barakuir Duergar Ridaugaur (might be only after the Duergar escape from Oryndoll)
Holorar
Iltkazar Olara Arnskull Riftsong Stoneshoulder Tethen (includes the humans dwelling there) Diamondblade Ghalmrin? DgttU p104 Runescribe
Korolnor Kuldelver (Karlyn Kuldelver after whom the Wailing Dwarf was constructed) LOI p21 and DgttU p84
Sondarr Gemcrypt (now extinct, once a ruling clan in Sondarr) Trollspear (now presumed extinct, once a ruling clan in Sondarr) Ghalmrin Truesteel Battlebellow
Torglor
Ultoksamrin Velm DgttU p115
Xothaerin Arjotun Azerkyn Blackbanner Firebeard (First King of Oghrann was a Firebeard)?
