Greetings wise Sages! I hope this is the right place for this scroll and wonder if you could enlighten me?

Is there any official lore that reveals who or what was, or could have been, responsible for the string of grisly murders that occurred in Seven Cuts Court, Velen? And/Or makes more than a passing mention to them. I'd like to make use of the mystery but I wanted to make sure that it hadn't been officially 'solved' before I did so.

Thank ye :)

ETA: Okay, so, "Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II" refers to the culprit a 'slaying ghost' but that's about as much as I've been able to find so far.

I have a hazy recollection of that place getting a passing mention in the House of Serpent's series. Maybe in the first book, Venom's Taste. Were severed feet occasionally found there?

Aye, that's the one. It's also mentioned in 'Rising Tide' which echoes the vengeful ghost theory but gives no other clue to the identity of the culprit, be they living or dead.

Thanks for suggestion on other mentions. :)

Now that you mention it, it probably was in Mel Odem's omnibus that I read that. Like I said, very hazy, I haven't read either of those two trilogies in a long time.
