That makes me wish I had any sort of artistic talent whatsoever. Very cool. |
Anyone who likes to read something that's really dark and gritty and completely awesome ought to read The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. You can check out a little taste at www.BrentWeeks.com I should probably warn you, though, that it is definitely not PG-13 :-D
He also started a new Trilogy with Black Prism, which may even surpass the Night Angel Trilogy in its awesomeness.

The artwork is great.
Though I don't care for the subject matter (Dragons on covers kept me away from the DL material). Undead ones (more shadowstuff) just makes it worse.
I plan to buy the product regardless (we all should), but I will paste a picture I like more over it, like my face... eating pie...
Thanks for posting that - at least I have gotten my 'groans' out of the way now, so I don't get funny looks at the bookstore.
You know what would have been really different? Putting a pic of Neverwinter on the cover! What a concept! |

Is there even such a thing? I don't recall there ever being a picture of Neverwinter from any artist's rendering from any editon. So this one is just as good as any other IMO. And maybe the Dracolich is a large part of the area?

Nice, I would have preferred Todd Lockwood though... |

Lockwood can't even get Drizzt's armor right or his scimitars for that matter |

You sir no not what you speak of. Lockwood has merely taken a few author's liberties with drizzt's equipment and done a fine job on them might I add. |

Very nice picture, I can see why they want to use it as cover art. I wonder if a dracolich is going to be a major player in Neverwinter or just a catchy image and one threat among many. I still don't know if I'll buy the book, I don't use 4e material so unless it is full of such awesome lore that I have to convert it to my own campaign I don't know if I'll be able to justify buying it. Still, the cover hasn't soured me on it and what I hear of the book interests me, if WotC is actually putting out a mostly lore campaign book for the Realms I'll have to try and budget for it even if I won't use some of it, in the hopes that if this sells well maybe WotC will see that there is a market for good Forgotten Realms lore still. |
