Vue9 Infinite for scene building/rendering
Poser8 for character, then import to Vue
Photoshop CS4 Ext for postwork
I also use Rhino for model making (mostly my spelljammer ships or weapons)
Some other stuff like Particle Illusion and photoshop plugins for SFX

And my stuff is all legit, in case folk wonder, been doing this for over 10 years so gathered it all, updated over the years
As I keep telling folk, sign up for newsletters, get 3D art magazines and you'd be surprised the amount of freebies and 1/2 price offers you get: saves a packet ;)
