Alright folks....
Let's see if we can't cast the Forgotten Realms movie....
I was thinking someone like Nicholas Cage as Drizzt...Thin, wiry, muscular, moral...etc., etc.
I think that Kurt Russell would be perfect as Artemis Entreri (see Escape from New York if you disagree with me). Of course, oddly enough, I could see Nick Cage playing Artemis as well...
I think we'd have a good Catti-Brie in Kate Winslet....a good Elminster in Sean Connery or someone to that effect....and Cliff Robertson (of Charly fame) as the Blackstaff. I think that Angelica Houston (Addams Family, Ever After) as either Lloth or Matron Malice.
Any ideas?
Oh, and the actor who played Maximus' owner (Prospero, I think?) in GLADIATOR would have been PERFECT as Bruenor Battlehammer ("Maximus: Prospero, I think you are in danger of becoming a good man. Prospero: (pause)BAH!"). Unfortunately he passed away recently, so I think that either of the HUGE celts from Braveheart would work....preferably Wallace's friend's father.....

Hmmmm, I'll play Drizzt, Tiax will play Bruenor, and I'm not sure who will play anyone else, and who can we find thats small enough to play Regis? I bet we could cast the role of wulfgar easily enough. The Great Drizzt |

The guy that played Willow would work...by the way he has been in a recent movie by the name of Harry Potter. |

How about, in the first scene, the court jester gets beheaded and it's Carrot top. |

I have a Friend that is an amazings actor, really going places if you know what I mean. He's charming and hansome, oh is he hansome. Lady's calm down he's taken . But has real talent, and I think he would land my favorite character in the Realms. Mr. EC him self.
This is a hard question... |

I could do the background music. After all, I am a drummer. BTW, we could use the actor who played Frodo in the Lord of the Rings for Regis maybe. |

Yes, I suppose Orlando Bloom could play Drizzt, but then we would still need to find someone to play Regis. |

Hmmm.......I guess that would be funny, but I think the movie should be more serious like the Lord of the Rings. |

Probably Bruce Campbell as Finder.(he was the king of thieves on the "Xena" and "Hercules" shows).
Who played Duncan McCloud on the Highlander series? He'd be good as somebody, I'm sure. |

Hmmm... cliche, but Mr "I'll be back" Schwarzenegger could play the part of Wulfgar... eventhough he might be getting a little to old for it. And I could see Nicole Kidman playing Cattie-brie.
The guy playing McCloud in the Highlander films is Christopher Lambert. |

I don't know...I had thought maybe Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, Masters of the Universe, The Punisher) as Wulfgar....but he could be dead for all I know... |

Yeah, Dolf would be great for the role of Wulfgar, but I don't see Nicole Kidman playing Cattie-brie though. The Great Drizzt |

Thanks William! Yeah, I started this post more than a year ago...glad to see it came back up...
I still think Dolph is the only actor I've seen who could do Wulfgar properly... |

Yeah, more people getting into the action. I'm more of a behind the scenes girl myself. Don't know if I could act infront of the camera, way too scary. |

I just had a thought. I'd be good too if actors like Lucy Lu were casted into swordfighting characters. Then most of the fighting and action scenes wouldn't have to be faked too much. |

Drew Barrymore for Catti-brie? No way. I admit I haven't seen her in much, but she doesn't have the same attiude, I think . . . .
Lucy Liu would be good for something, but not for any of the main Realms characters. Why? Race. [::mouth twists as he uses one of his least favorite terms, at least in this context::] It's just the simple fact that people of her physical type are extremely rare in Faerun itself. (Otherwise, she'd make a great actor for a lot of the roles. She has the right personality.)
I suppose you can't talk about those two on the same page without mentioning Cameron Diaz. For her . . . well, I think she's the wrong one as well. Just a feeling.
There's another thing that people in this modern culture wouldn't think of right away; hair color. American female (or at least, female Caucasian [::mouth twists::]) beauty tends to blonde hair. Blonde is actually a rare color for hair in the sort of culture that is predominant in Faerun. It would be more common the farther north you go, due to some physical adaptation (I don't understand it fully, but I'm told it has something to do with vitamin D dificiencies, and color adaptation to absorb more sunlight).
The other part of the current fashion in beauty is tanned skin. That fits right in -- not because of the people in Faerun spending more time outdoors, though that's a part. It's mostly because the skin of your average European is a lot darker than that of the average Englishman, which is responsible for the way "whites" [::twist::] have dominated American society. So, while it's unhealthy in the extreme for pale-skined people to get such a tan from anything other than some cremes, it lets them fit into the society we're talking about more easily. Or at least, easily enough for a suspension of disbelief.
