Not so many of us would choose to be warriors or rogues, eh? Everybody wants to be a spellcaster. Nobody wants to work for a living? |

Seems I'm the only person here who wants to be an elven queen or a an elven princess or a very rich elven noble... It's great to be prominent between elves. I'd like to be a spellcaster too.
P.S. Candlekeep scribe sounds not bad, but what is the salary in Canlekeep? How much do they pay?

Well, they're monks. With 1e rules that means they basically have no money and can't keep money anyways. And they're scholars. We all know how much money students have.
Then again, they have a 10,000GP cover charge for each visitor. Adventurers donate stuff like spellbooks to them all the time, just think about what that's worth. There's no way that's all being spent on paper and ink. (Plus they can probably save money by using spells like Erase, Copy, and Mending to keep their books in good condition.) |

Because its the only place I can think of in the Realms where I wouldn't become completely paranoid. Candlekeep is the safest place I can think of in all the Realms. There's plenty to read and plenty of visitors, so as I said, as long as there is no vow of celibacy it sounds perfect.
Yeah, but I'd expect that the nightlife wouldn't be all that...
With all the wizards and adventurers coming there to study? It cant be all that bad. And earthly monks made their own beer, so I will not loose my image of this as the perfect place (read: hideout) in the Realms. |

I think it has something to do with wanting to survive. I would rather be a crockery salesmen in Deepingdale than a warrior wandering the Realms. |

A bardic seducer. You know, the type that makes Beshaba giddy, and Auril blush.

Dificult question... type of character is one thing, but profession in the sense of somebody who really has to earn his/her living...
As has been pointed out here before, Faerun is a pretty dangerous place for all characters below epic level. So while wandering sage or wandering merchant sounds fun to me, their life expectancy does not look too positive. |

Earning a meager 1d4 gold pieces every month (assuming you have a useful trade) and hardly travelling more than 20 miles away from home in your entire life isn't very appealing either. Especially since "Faerūn is a pretty dangerous place" and you never know when some orc raiders or Thay slavers or adventurers (disruptive collateral damage) will unexpectedly wander into town.
Thus my first choice, a non-adventuring mage with a lucrative specialty. |

I'll "work" for a living. Being a hunter full time would be a wonderful life; then in the deep winters I could read and write by candles.
I'd REALLY need to practice up on my archery though... |

Hey! That supposed to be MY job! Then again, I suppose there's room enough for two such in Faerun. I've got dibs on Waterdeep, though- that's where the money is....

Either craftsman of magic equipment or a priest of Eilistraee. |

Adventurer! But only if someone I know and trust can cast Resurrection, Raise Dead, Heal, and divine when/if things went a hard south for me or my party members!
But like being a pro athlete, one can only be an adventurer for so long, even if exceptionally gifted. Thus I think a good alternate career would be that of owning and managing my own travelling circus/freakshow! |

What about you, Jelennet? Mage or sorcerer of great power perhaps? |

Yeah, that would be nice, I simply LOVE power and maybe I'll try to beat Srinshee or Simbul in a very honest magical duel. Just for fun... I'm not jealous at somebody's powers, but I want to know my limits. I've already anwsered earlier that I want to ba an elven queen or an elven princess or at least a wealthy elven noble - politics is interesting and it's great to be famous between elves. |

I know that it's not easy to be a politican, but it's funnier than to be an ordinary mortal. By the way what are you going to do when Eilistraee is killed? |

Dunno. Weep few monthes about her death. Swear vengeance on the Lolth? Explore around, get myself a new home, get to follow new patron. Trying to get new life as dark elf instead of drow? In other words, to have fun! |

Hmmm, well as people of Eilistraee, what's your stance on armor? None? |

Captain of the magnificant square sailed caravelle Halcyon's Star for me. Shipping rich merchants and their wares along the sword coast. Oh, with the odd bardic tendency too; my instrument of choice, a mandolin. |

Never got an answer when I asked how there was barnacles on the mast pole. Never found out why we went to ruined Phlan of all places. Shoulda swum fer shore when I had the chance. |
