Hehe. The extent of my knowledge of Weird Al's discography only includes the songs he contributed to the soundtrack of the Transformers: The Movie animated feature. |

Well, "Dare to be Stupid" is one of my fave songs by him... And isn't that Cyric's themesong? |

Cat's in the Cradle by Harry Chapin for Bane & Iyachtu Xvim
What can I say? I'm weird.
Bad, Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce for Artemis Entreri
A Horse With No Name by America for the guy on the Old Grey Box (Dûd Onahorz)
The Joker by The Steve Miller Band for Garl glittergold
Wild Thing by the Troggs for Malar
Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas for Kane
Abracadabra by the Steve Miller Band for Azuth
Revolution by the Beatles for Lhaeo/Haedrak
Another One Bites the Dust by Queen for Myrkul
Soul Man by sam & Dave for Jergal (the absurdity of picturing him 'getting down' to that song tickles me silly)

Don't Pay the Ferryman by Chris de Burgh for Charon (okay, thats really Planescape)
I know enough about classic music to appreciate that this song would actually be more appropriate for the Marraenoloth skeletal ferrymen on the River Styx.
Ummmmmmm... thats who I was talking about. |

MT, I kind of think "Private Dancer" fits Sharess better, lol! Though the choices for Ilsensine and Tymora were great!!
How about- "Come Sail Away" for Valkur?
Oh, for Manshoon, an obvious choice, given his "nickname"- "La Cucharacha"! (sp?)
Any Pasha in Calimport- "Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf
Kossuth- "Light My Fire" by the Doors
Shar- "Dungeons Are Calling" by Savatage
Simbul- "Witchy Woman" by the Eagles

I don't see the relevancy of Dust in the Wind for Shaundakul though.
I'm a Kansas fan, and I think you may have meant Point of No Return? That would be a good choice for Valkur as well. Dust in the Wind is more of a Shar-thing (big-time Entropy thing going on there).
All of Kansas' songs are great inspiration for D&D, particularly off the Point of No Return album.
I was actually most pleased with my choice for Cyric.
And looking at it now I have actually no idea why I put down Dust in the Wind there, I don't even like that song. I might have had Against the Wind by Seger in the back of my head or just thought about the wind the dust as traveling in some way. It should probably be changed to Call me the Breeze (either the JJ Cale original or the Lynyrd Skynyrd version). Down the Road with Kansas has a title that works, but the lyrics are of course wrong.
And as it was impossible for me to find anything for a couple of gods I will just use those slots for "Radar Love" by Golden Earring and the titanic and ground breaking "East-West" by The Butterfield Blues band. These have absolutely nothing to do with the gods in question but they are to great to leave out.
As for Kansas. Death Of Mother Nature Suite would be the perfect choice for the Emerald Brotherhood and aggressive druids.
I am the Walrus (Beatles of course) for Mirt Got my Mojo working (Muddy Waters or Otis Span version) for Elminster.
Seems like I will have to start going through the personalties of the Realms to.

Take me to the River For Eldath (the title and chorus work, the rest not so much)
I had a choice (magic man) for the Simbul singing about Elminster, but how about the other 'way around?
She's Always a Woman by Billy Joel - Lyrics work GREAT
Rather then use the other thread, I'll just post my event/place choices here as well...
Nobody's Home by Kansas for the post-plague Realms

Holy Carp!
I had that same song with "any Shoon Emperor", and then deleted it from my list because it wasn't specific enough.
Talk about 'thinking alike'. You would think at least one of us would have went to Zakhara or even Semphar/Golden waters with that. |

I have to ask. Which version the Al green version, Foghat or one of the later covers?
Galadriel by Barclay James Harvest could work for Alustriel.
Give me the Prize by Queen would be the song for all adventuring parties.
Time We Left This World Today by Hawkwind would be the song of the elves.
I Walked with a Zombie works for Szass Tam.
Love Man by Otis Redding could be anotehr choise for Elminster.
The Band version of I Shall Be Released is the grumbling humming of all summoned creatures.
Keep Me Hanging on is the national anthem of all Cloakers, the Vanilla Fudge version when in a bad mood and the Supremes when happy.
