Anyone else notice the little joke about Regis and Catti-brie's names....?
Say them out loud: "Regis and Catti-brie." You'll get it if you haven't already.

| I'd noticed it, sort of, but since I've always pronounced Catti-brie with an 'i' sound at the end, not an 'e,' it didn't strike me as funny. Regis was easy to spot, of course, it being a real-world name in a fantasy setting. That made the rest stand out. |

Here in the States, there's this morning talk show host on TV named Regis Philben; he also used to host "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" He used to have a cohost named Kathy Lee Gifford (I think that was her last name).
What Arion is suggesting is that Salvatore diliberately named two of his characters in order to make a little pun: Regis and Catti-brie.
Though . . . were they both doing that when The Crystal Shard was published? That seems a long time ago . . . . |

Nope!!! I would say you were right.The only way is if Salvatore himself made a post saying you made a mistake.Would be worth it to
get him on here.... Don't you agree.Especially since I'm not the one who would get flayed.

here?I know you are interested in weapons and armor from the link you posted a while back.I have an interest myself and may get more involved later on when time permits.

I believe it was in an About the Author blurb on the dust jacket of one of his books. I can't remember which one, but it would have been before 1999. I know it was one of my brother's books, and that was the year he moved out.
I remember comparing it to that picture at the mentioned link (which had been the first I'd seen of him) and thinking that he looked a lot different. He had a beard, I believe, and a rather wild look to him. Sort of biker-ish, but without the tattoos. I'm probably a bit off, though; it's been at least four years, and most likely more, since I saw that one.
Hmm . . . some poor soul's looking for me in the Inn? Well, I suppose I ought to go see about that. I usually just hang around the stacks here, but perhaps it's time for a change of scenery . . . . |

Of course, if it's someone from Candlekeep, it's not really all that necessary -- the name on my account is the same as the one I use here. Or, I should say, when I came here I used the name on my account. |
