After two months of sitting here I was thinking, how much post you needed to get 5 stars? Are there any VIP members except for the authors and moderators?

I think 55 is two stars. Check the Members page and scroll according to the posts. Be warned, there's a lot of people with 0 posts. |

1000 posts will get you 4 stars.
2000 posts will get you 5 stars. |

Site administration staff, as I mentioned above. There are other special titles also, like George Krashos remaining as a Master of Realmslore even though he's past 2,000 posts. That was at his request. And, of course, there is the Lady Herald of Realmslore, which is a Candlekeep-only title bestowed upon the always lovely and bountiful 'The Hooded One,' who relays questions and answers back and forth between the scribes of Candlekeep and Ed Greenwood. But that's about it. |

Having just reached my 2000 mark, I would also like to point out that it takes a lot longer to get there than on other forums. With some other boards, I could reach 2000 posts in 6-8 months because forum topics are all over the map (current events, joke threads, actual topics, etc.). But, since we stay on topic so much at the `keep, there's a lot less 'noise' that would skew post counts really high.
Also, the fact that the in-character scrolls do not count toward post totals either. |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

I concur. The Sage's title should clearly have some indication of divinity. 'Omnipotent Lorekeeper' or the like :) |

That's what I was trying to do with the "Loremaster Most High" title. Plus, it's an official Realmslore reference too! |

If you'd be going with some divinity reference and something of omnipotence, then the title "Karsus" would be all encompassing... |

So I only need another 9,550 post to get the title of Arch-Lurker in Residence I so lust after?

Somehow that seems inherently self-defeating... |

Strangely enough, there is almost no original self-titles up here? Why is that? I thought if there is modified title, there would be bunch of them, like titles from some order of deity. |

Well, we've only got four people with self-titles, and only two of them did it thru post-count... |

Now next question. Is it possible to have no rank, but be appointed to moderator. Not that I strive to be one. |

No. All registered scribes start off at some level -- usually Acolyte. |

With Sage taking 'Care' of it, I would assume around Jan. 1212. |

Ever since registering, I still find that a good number of my posts don't increase the rolling post count, so I don't really pay much credence to that or ranks.
It's the content of one's words that matter to me--not scores or labels or what-not.

It's because of Sage's gremlins -- when there's a timeout or ASP0113 error, it doesn't increment up. |

And sometimes the errors are so bad, that they cause the post count to decrease -- as evidenced by the fact that you'll sometimes see newly opened scrolls with post counts of "-1." |

It can as well. I've actually experienced decreased post counts as a result of both problems -- gremlins during posting, and ASP errors when going back and deleting any duplicate posts. |
