Hey there.
I am currently undergoing research while I prepare to portray an Elven Bladesinger(Of house Amarillis) in an online Hardcore RP server.
Alas I fear that the information I have gathered on the Bladesingers is limited(Its enough to get me to RP but not to my fullest). My sources so far are the Faerun Wiki entry on Bladesingers and the Novel Bladesinger from The Fighters series.
Are there other sources I can get my hands on? Ones that will answer several of my questions at least, for example:
* What kind of weapons does the Bladesingers use? I assumed those would be Rapier/Longswords
* What exactly are the Seven Form that a Bladesinger trainee has to learn by heart and What exactly is the Haera(Mentioned in the Faerun Wiki entry)?
* What kind of armor do they use? Do they use shields?
Thanks in advance!
Mod Edit: Found this scroll floating in the ether.

*: okay, longswords and rapiers yes, IIRC I have seen variants somewhere that had variants for the various other elves to use other weapons such as the shortspear. This however was previous editions. 8: No clue, previous edition books, such as elves of evermeet, complete guide to elvse ,might have some, otherwise you will have to ask either ED Greenwood or the author of that book. 3: in 2nd, iirc; none, in 3.x they were able to use light armors, such as leather, studded leather, chain shirt, mythral chain and mythral chain shirt. NO shields
othersources: Elves of evermeet Complete guide to elves complete guide to fighters?? the Ask Ed Greenwood thread

why is being a wizard like being a drow? both are likely to find a dagger in the back from a rival or one looking to further his own goals, fame and power

Erik Scott de Bie's had some intriguing thoughts on bladesingers and such, both here and on the Wizards boards. I'd suggest directing a few of these questions his way also, as he might have something further to add. [And, also, performing a relevant search here at Candlekeep for similar past discussion scrolls]
As for other sources, most of the more elven-centric tomes tend to provide some brief details on bladesingers. Books like Cormanthyr and the Fall of Myth Drannor module for example. [Both of which are available as free PDF downloads at WotC]. |

| The 2E splatbook Elves of Evermeet has information on several bladesinger lodges and their preferred weapons. |

You can try either nobleknight.com or eBay for second hand copies.
