anyone else reading this I did a search but couldn't find anything?
I was not expecting much after reading a previous novel in the wild series so it was a nice surprise that I'm enjoying the edge of chaos novel. basically it's a buddy road trip story where the lead hero characters make a bad impression on each at first but gradually respect each other as the story moves along as one is a magically resistant rogue and the other a kelemver monk who both have had tragic beginnings in life
there is a powerplay between Tyrangal copper guards and the order of the blue flame in ormpetarr which I'm also finding interesting
I'm only halfway through the book but so far its been a fun read I liked the bit about the prostitute moirah with the spellscar ability that made her become the number one girl in the jewel and the monk walking in to find duvan the rogue
two question:
Q.there was a mention of a cleric in the order of the blue flame but I don't know who the pray was directed too as the order just seem to worship the spellplague?
Q.there was a mention of wildhome elves who took Duvan prisoner when he was 10 and held him in their forest home and wasn't released until Tyrangal rescued him. is this normal behaviour of wildhome elves?
To question 1: the Order of Blue Flame believes that the spellplague was a divine event that must be spread across Toril. They see the Sharn and the being known as the Masters of Aboslute Accord as divine representatives of the spellplague and worship them in the same manner as the spellplague. I haven't read that book in a while, but i believe the prayer you are referring to was aimed at the Sharn.
For the second question, I think the behavior of the elves was one more of practicality than anything else. Since they live so close to the plaguechanged lands and with active spellplague all around them, they saw what they were doing as more survival than anything else. They did treat him well until he wanted to leave, so I think their actions were unique for the situation.
