I don't know what will happen to current D&D games, though I'm sure it will be complicated.
I almost hope Atari does lose the D&D license in it's entirety. They've never been known to support their games very well (kind of fire-and-forget when it comes to releasing their games). The developers have often hinted that dealing with Atari on D&D licensed games was less than good (no overt criticisms, but a general feeling of frustration related to all aspects of developing a D&D game).
It might be nice to see a fresh publisher with the license. |

I think it's about time. Atari is just a shell, a brand name resurrected by another company. They've forgotten how the industry functions; that to make it sales and profits, you usually need to start with good games.
The D&D license has been squandered with Atari. Their time with the license produced little of note. The only decent games that came from it are the Neverwinter Nights series, which are probably a remnant deal from the Interplay/Black Isle days.
I really don't think it would hurt the D&D franchise if the license were given to another company interested in creating good games. Then again, Hasbro/WotC has made unwise decisions with the D&D license, I need not say more than look at the D&D movies, both live action and animated. |

Agreed! Atari has done nothing but actually stifle any D&D related game development. I for one would cheer if they did lose the license. |

I do not think that ATARI was the best in D&D related game development but was not the worst!!! ATARI made good games not excellent...I believe that SSI and Interplay/Black Isle was the best ...And after all i think hasbro and wizards was the WORST in comparison to the great TSR ... All i want now is to see soon a sollution to this matter for the best of the D&D ps games.. |

Seeing as to how the last good D&D game was Icewind Dale II, this doesn't seem particularly tragic. |
"Gods, little fishes, and spells to turn the one to the other," Mordenkainen sighed. "It's started already..." |
