In Cormanthyr: Empire of the Elves there is a High Magic ritual called Suyoll or "The Revival". It's pretty much a true ressurection designed specifically for the Tel'Quessir.

It also has the power to restore an drow elf to elven society. Which I suppose means reverting the drow to the an ilythiri.

The ritual does not change the drows appearance, but it does strip away the magical powers that drow recieve.

What would an elf who went through this ritual have to have done to prove his/herself? What would they be like now?

What sort of racial stats would they get?

This is an interesting question Herr Doktor. Allow me a few moments to review the information in that particular tome so that I may be better prepared to contribute to this discussion.

Hmm. Obviously, that's 2e material, since elves don't have that restriction anymore.

But what good is the spell to the drow? It sounds like just the same sort of thing Drizzt got, though he still can cast faerie fire. (Or is that dancing lights now? I never looked it up.)

Hell hath no fury like all of Candlekeep rising in defense of one of its own.

Yes, faerie fire in 2e is dancing lights in 3e.
