Would a non-detection spell work to keep them hidden? Or maybe some type of olfactory illusion?
It might be some sense that humanoids don't normally have. I'd limit it to steel dragons, myself. As for half-dragons, I'd say that a half-steel might recognize a full-on steel dragon, or at the least would sense that there was something more to them. As for the other way around, I'd say that a full-on steel dragon would recognize a half-steel. |

I'd call it "dragon-sense", lol! I've noticed that most dragons tend to be able to recognize each other, perhaps it works by smell. Most dragons (especially metallics) have a "signature scent" that follows them, so maybe other dragons are better at noticing that. (Golds, for example, always smell like saffron, and silvers have a "rain" scent.) Since a dragon's senses are so acute, they may beable to pick up traces of this that linger even through a shape-change. |
