Hey, was wondering if anyone could clear up an issue for me. Page 172 of Condemnation (War of the Spider Queen Book 3) where Pharaun casts a spell to discern the location of what they are looking for. From what it sounds like the spell he uses is Divination. But that spell is a cleric spell that a wizard wouldn't be able to use, and the discern location spell wouldn't give a premonition like "each of you save one will commit betrayal before your quest is done." Anyone able to tell me what this spell is exactly? Thanks!
It could be legend lore, but the casting time seems wrong for that. Based on the info he had, it would of taken over a week to cast. Its possible the author took some liberties here, but every other spell as far as I know is accurate. I even checked the 3 Eldritch might supplements because the author mentions eldritch magic filling the air. Are there other books with eldritch spells it could be in? Otherwise Pharaun was metagaming lol.
1) Authors are allowed to take whatever liberties they want to proceed the story. His spell could have been altered by a God or Goddess wanting to provide information, or something similar.
2) It's possible that it's a private spell he's developed himself, or he's really adept at casting it and knows shortcuts to shorten the casting time (like Quicken Spell).
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.
