Year: 1378 DR
Starting Location: Yartar, The Silver Marches
Starting Characters:

Sarakar Danysia: A young and idealistic nineteen year old woman from Zhentil Keep. She is a very inexperienced young priestess of Bane, and believes firmly that Bane is the path to the peace of Toril; that once the humans have a head to their pantheon, much like the elves, gnomes, orcs and dwarves do, we will no longer be at war with other humans. She is a stern young lady, who spends much of her time studying over tomes, religious and otherwise. She alone holds the knowledge that Toel Belor is Maskite, and uses this to her advantage. She is in The Silver Marches to try and raise converts to her Lord.

Toel Belor: Toel is a charismatic rogue, and native to Sembia. He is extremely skilled at deceiving others, and can be petty thief, undercover agent and con artist, as well as a slough of other strengths. Unfortunately, Toel ran across the canny Sarakar in Zhentil Keep, and the Banite accidentally found out his patron deity was not Waukeen at all, but Mask. The Priestess uses this information to keep Toel under her sway, threatening to let it be known unless he cooperates with her. The two have been traveling 'friends' since then, Toel keeping Sarakar company and working as a skilled hand as she spreads Bane's word. Toel is sometimes paranoid, and with good reason; he knows there are others out there as good at his strengths as he is. Or better.

Nort Mellik: Nort joined Sarakar and Toel in Yartar. A traveling charlatan and magician, Nort is first and foremost a sorcerer and a worshiper of Kossuth. He is, secondarily, a cutpurse , who will put on shows of magic and skill to distract his marks, then take their purses without notice. He has, in the past, moved from town to town as he saw fit. Yartar, though, had some to be a place of interest to Nort. He joined the group after a convincing discussion with Sarakar on peace through tyranny; interested in her ideas, he agreed to join with the two in their budding adventuring team.

Malaclypse: Malaclypse is a native of Yartar, and a fletcher of some skill who runs a stall in the main marketplace. Experienced in physical combat, he fights with a falchion, and agreed to join the party without much prompting at the same time as Nort. A mask covers a portion of the man's face by choice, as he was badly disfigured in a fire some years ago, and prefers not to let these scars be seen by wearing fully covering clothing in addition to the cover.

Stache: A monk of Savras. Not much else is known about the character, other than he does NOT have a mustache. He joined the party after Sarakar asking if he was interested.

Campaign Premise and starting session:

3 Tarsakh, 1378 DR -

Spring is taking hold over Faerun; on the Chultan peninsula, the fight to contain the Night Serpent has met with little success, with many religious organizations sending in more powerful clergy to stave off what could be seen as the creature who will bring about the end of Toril. In the Dalelands (as well as the far off Yuirwood) the blightspawned plague keeps its hold as the snow thaws, though through the efforts of Cormyr its progress in spreading has been all but halted. To the north, rumors abound of orc tribes once at odds joining, and armies marching to leave their dens and females behind, and anxiety is rising among some that an orc horde larger than some in recent years may be on the form.

Despite all these goings on, day to day life in Faerun for most remains the same. Sarakar Danysia and Toel Belor arrive in the town of Yartar. Sarakar, looking to spread the word of Bane and at the same time make Banites more friendly in appearance to the common folk, decides to make allies if at all possible to create an adventuring party.

Toel, under her command by no choice of his own, heads to the more seedy area of town. He asks through many establishments, including the abominable White Winged Griffon. One of the two owners of this tavern, who seem to have no customers, informs Toel to come back in two days after Toel makes it clear Sarakar represents Bane; that perhaps he will then be able to scrounge up some assistance for the goal of making themselves appear trustworthy.

Sarakar, meanwhile, has been busy recruiting at the most popular Inn for adventurers in Yartar - Beldabar's Rest. It is here she encounters Nort Mellik, putting on a show of small magical tricks and flare for the amusement of the tavern goers. As the man began to put on a show for the masked one, Malaclypse, she approached the two. An alliance was easily and cordially struck up. While Malaclypse seemed perhaps wary of Sarakar's zealotry, Nort seemed absolutely intrigued by her ideas.

Malaclypse informed the group that often jobs for people like themselves were posted in the temple of Tymora perched atop a hill overlooking the town. I will not go over all the night's activities here in full, but in short: Toel came away from the temple of Tymora a far richer man; Nort cut Toel's decoy coinpurse, and came away with suspicions the man may be a cutpurse like himself. Stache joined with the party after Sarakar asked if he might. Sarakar headed to a rather lowly place to rent a room by the week, called the Swan's Roost, and decided to take this lodging rather than the cost of an Inn. Though it had never been openly mentioned Sarakar was from Zhentil Keep, Malaclypse decided to make it sure that he was not a Banite or Zhent, never had been, and never would be. Tension built between the priestess and the fighter, as it became clear he may not always listen to her orders.

The party retired for the night to their separate rooms, awaiting a far more eventful time come the morn.

"Then I was right. Jobe has all his children killed, and Michael Bay gets to keep making his movies. There is no god."
