Hey guys! (and gals)
Long time no see!
I just got "Descent into Darkness" in the mail today, and reading the forewords, I was stunned to see that Brian Cortijo (Garen Thal) was the mad scientist behind this stunning adventure path finale!
Well done Brian!
Keep it coming, and good job with the switch to Paizo! a wise choice in the current economic times!

| My copy is still traveling across the big water, but as a subscriber I already have the PDF. Aside from the last chapter of the adventure path, it is the article "Demon Lords of Golarion" by James Jacobs that strikes me to be very interesting. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the paper copy which will give me some hours of reading fun. |

"Anyone can kill deities, cause plagues, or destroy organizations. It takes real skill to make them live on." Varl

| Wow! traffic is slower than I remember around here... has Candlekeep fallen upon hard times, or is this a result of the widespread disinterest for all things 4E? |

Nah, but I haven't gotten my copy yet, I don't think. So, I didn't comment about it. :)
On a related note: PCGEN, the rpg program, has been updated to include the material from Pathfinder beta.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

| Guide to Absalom and Into the Darklands are both excellent. At least, that's my personal opinion. I'm a little behind on my Second Darkness reading since I've been prepping for a convention this weekend, but I have the book in hand, and from the skim that I gave it, it looks great. |

Yep, that's me.
I'm incredibly proud of the adventure, with all its flaws (and yes, there are flaws, just like any product). Considering I wrote that badboy in 18 days, I do a little dance any time anyone says anything at all positive about the module.

Ooh, you already have the 'Guide to Absalom' -- I'm still waiting for my copy to ship overseas. Maybe it will finally reach the frigid shores of Scandinavia next month?
I really liked the 'Elves of Golarion' and 'Guide to Korvosa', but I think so far the best Paizo supplement I've bought is 'Gods and Magic'. SKR really managed to give it his best shot, and in my opinion it's up to par with the FR "deity books". What's even better, since the lore reminds me so much of FR, and there are similar deities in the pantheon, I could use, say, some lore from Gorum's entry with the clergy of Tempus.

That's almost an Ed-like timeframe for writing...good work. |

I'm so annoyed that I can't read it... although I bought it, a friend of mine will DM us through it (yay! I'm a player again! for reasons I explained in your question thread elsewhere.. )
We're starting the first Second Darkness chapter on Tuesday... so it will be a while until we get to yours.
So far, I've elected to play the purely melee, sword and board fighter (whenever I have had the chance to play as a player since 2000, I've always fell into the spellcaster role... this time, it's straight fighter time! )
Without spoiling the plot, any advice as to which nationality would be best for my fighter? I'm thinking human, as demihumans seem a bit less an attractive option to me when Golarion is concerned, but I'm opened to ideas. Someone spoiled me already, in a minor fashion, on the Paizo board, hinting that an elf fighter, who likes to fight and kill enemies a lot (wink, wink ) *could* suffer a *setback* in this adventure path (wink, wink ) so I'm pretty sure I'm not playing an elf!
I play a bard hailing from Taldor in our local Pathfinder Society games, so I'd like to try another country for my human fighter (not an Andoran... but anything else)
What is your suggestion? any other comments or advice for our upcoming games?
PS: we're using PRPG beta rules, btw... even though the modules are in 3.5... 'cause PRPG beta rocks, and there's no adaptation required from 3.5 to PRPG... |

I like the Gods and Magic book myself. I'm thinking of ways to try and 'import' Lamashtu the Mother of Monsters into the Realms as a new demoness. What can I say, I like her. |
